Two Ford Truck Models Are Selling for Way Over MSRP
Be careful about which truck you want. Some Ford truck trims are more popular than others, leading to massive price spikes. People are going nuts for something that the Ford Ranger doesn’t offer yet.
These two Ford truck models are selling above MSRP
The most popular Ford truck models at the moment are the Ford Maverick Hybrid and the Ford F-150 Hybrid. Perhaps the Ford Ranger Hybrid should arrive soon to give customers a third hybrid truck option.
It makes sense for the Maverick Hybrid to be in high demand due to its incredible efficiency. However, the Ford F-150 Hybrid was labeled as the least reliable truck in 2023 due to battery problems. The Maverick Hybrid has its fair share of recalls too.
Ford made the F-150 Hybrid easier to get by allowing people to upgrade from the 3.6-liter engine to the hybrid variant at no extra cost.
The F-150 Hybrid is selling at 13% above MSRP with a price range of $36,770 to $78,300 and the Maverick Hybrid is selling for 8,0% above MSRP with a range of $23,815 to $34,885.
These Ford truck models are quite different in size and abilities, but both are pretty darn efficient compared to rivals.
With the Ford F-150 PowerBoost, you get a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine that’s paired with a 35-kWh battery to generate 430 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque.
It gets an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and up to 26 mpg on the highway. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 12,700 lbs.
The Ford Maverick Hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce 191 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 42 mpg in the city and up to 33 mpg on the highway. But it can only tow up to 2,000 lbs and can’t be paired with AWD, yet.
