The 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range is an excellent sports sedan

The purchase price for the 2022 Model 3 starts at $46,990. Add $7,500 for the $54,490 Tesla Model 3 Long Range and another $7,500 for the $61,990 Performance model.

The standard Model 3 has an EPA-estimated range of 267 miles. But the Long Range lives up to its name with a touted 358-mile range. And the Performance model can go 315 miles on a full charge, Tesla claims.

The Model 3 is Tesla’s most affordable EV, designed for the mass market. It seats five adults comfortably and has a large cargo area.

Despite Tesla’s hold on the EV market, the Long Range still faces competition from other electric cars. The Lucid Air boasts an estimated range of over 400 miles. However, it starts at nearly $80,000. 

Another option for luxury buyers is the 2022 Porsche Taycan, offering an unimpressive range of up to 225 miles. Then there’s the Polestar 2. It has a decent range of up to 270 miles and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under five seconds. 

The Long Range delivers excellent performance
