The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is one of those cars most of us have never heard of, and fewer will ever get to experience. In fact, Bugatti only plans to build just 60 of these cars over the next few years. As of writing, there seem to be one or two prototypes making the rounds on social media. However, one of these ultra-rare machines allegedly just crashed into a Toyota Corolla.

According to Motor1, this incident allegedly occurred while a potential customer tested the hypercar. Before diving into this story, it is worth pointing out that there is no official statement from Bugatti regarding this incident.

How much is a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport?

As you might imagine, the limited-edition Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is far from cheap. For context, a standard Chiron starts at just under $3 million. For this, you get a hand-built hypercar capable of hitting 60 mph in 2.3 seconds. However, for the one percent of the one percent, this isn’t enough.

This is where the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport comes in. Unlike the luxury-focused standard model, the Pur Sport is meant to be a driver’s car. While this special edition utilizes the same 1,500-hp quad-turbo W16 as the standard model, it has significantly shorter gears. The result is a 0-60 mph time of around 2.1 seconds. Additionally, the car gets revised suspension, a massive diet, and a massive rear wing on the back.

In total, this special edition will cost you just shy of $4 million. However, before someone drops serious cash like that, they’ll want a lengthy test drive. That’s where this latest crash story comes in as a customer allegedly crashed into a Toyota Corolla.

How did this hypercar crash into a Corolla?

As mentioned before, details surrounding this crash are fairly scarce. However, several sources covered by Motor1 seem to agree on a similar sequence of events. Allegedly, the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport customer was speeding when they lost control of the hypercar. At this point, the $4 million machine allegedly struck the sub-$20,000 Corolla.

As you can see from the video embedded above, the crash wasn’t major at all. In terms of the Toyota Corolla, we’re looking at a ruined rear bumper which can’t be more than a few hundred dollars. However, in the case of the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, even light damage could cost six figures. This is because the car is made almost entirely out of specialized carbon fiber.

How fast is a Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport?

Before we dunk on this customer for allegedly crashing this Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, it is worth reiterating just how fast this car truly is. While the standard Chiron is also one of the fastest cars on the planet, the Pur Sport is on another level. This 1,500-hp hits its peak torque figure at just 2,000 rpm.

While the 0-60 time is impressive, 15 percent shorter gears mean it stays inside its powerband for much longer than the standard car. As a result, it’s not hard to believe that this car could easily get away from even an experienced driver.
