In case you haven’t seen the movie, here is a quick recap of how the Lamborghini Countach got destroyed in the first place. This story begins as Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, takes a massive dose of strong drugs before driving to the local country club. Once there, the drugs kicked in and Belfort had to crawl into the Countach.

The next scene sees DiCaprio’s character drive home seemingly without hitting any cars. However, it is later revealed that the car was wrecked as he drove home. While this was done to create a bit of shock and awe, the film’s director decided to utilize a real Lamborghini Countach for the stunt.

If the damaged Lamborghini Countach looked authentic, that’s because it was. According to GT Spirit, the film crew took the time to destroy one of the 658 Countach 25th Anniversary models produced. While the car appeared on-screen for just a few seconds,we can see tons of visual damage.

For starters, the Lamborghini Countach had its front bumper, fenders, and hood destroyed. What makes this damage particularly widespread is that no panel appears to have been left alone in the stunt. The doors also show extensive damage throughout. However, the worst of the damage exists in the rear quarter panel, which appears almost to have been ripped off. Although it is hard to see, the rear passenger wheel seems to have sustained some severe damage.

If there is any bright side to this Lamborghini Countach story, it’s the fact that this car can likely be fixed without much issue. The added benefit of this kind of destruction is that none of the damage appears to be structural. While it certainly won’t be cheap. Most of those panels can likely be replaced and brought back to their original condition. Unfortunately, it’s been over seven years since the movie’s release, and there is still much we don’t know.

While this Lamborghini Countach is likely one of the most famous, it hasn’t been seen since the movie’s filming ended. While the damage was likely repairable, it seems no one has attempted to fix the broken supercar. Weirdly, the car never came up for auction in its damaged state. Given its value, chances are it wasn’t merely scrapped. If we had to guess, this broken Countach is likely held in a private collection as a movie memorabilia piece.

According to Classic Driver, a Ferrari Testarossa used in the movie came up for sale a few years ago. Strangely enough, this car had made it all the way to Monaco before selling. Regardless, we may never know what happened to that crashed Countach.
