If you’ve watched Fast & Furious 7, then you’ll know all about the Lykan HyperSport we’ll be discussing today. That’s because it’s the red supercar Vin Diesel and Paul Walker famously jumped from one building into another. Now, the supercar used in the movie heads to auction. However, this is by no means a normal car auction.

According to Rubix, the car up for sale is the last remaining stunt car utilized in the movie. However, this car isn’t just being sold as a car. Instead, it’s being sold as an NFT. In short, this means you also get ownership of digital assets tied to the vehicle.

How many Lykan HyperSports are there?

If this is the first time you hear about the Lykan HyperSport without its connection to the famous movie, you’re not alone. That’s because only a total of seven of these cars were meant for production. The keyword here is “meant.” With a price tag of $3.4 million, it certainly isn’t easy to sell, even to uber-wealthy billionaires.

The whole appeal of this supercar was that it was designed and built by a middle eastern company for the middle east. Since this car has billionaires as its target audience, it won’t surprise you to learn that it houses diamonds in its front headlights.

Peel back the skin, and you’ll find that the Lykan HyperSport is secretly a Ruf CTR3 underneath. You even get a Ruf-built 3.7-liter flat-six engine pushing out 780 hp and 708 lb-ft.

Chances are, however, that you’ll never see one in the flesh. That’s because no one has. In fact, you can go online but won’t find videos of this car in high-performance scenarios. Instead, it rolls along quietly from auto show to auto show.

This one was in Fast & Furious 7

As you might imagine then, this auction isn’t for one of the seven proposed Lykan HyperSport models. Instead, it’s for one of the stunt cars utilized for filming. According to Motor1, a total of 10 stunt cars were made for the movie, and this one that’s up for sale is the last surviving one.

As you might imagine, this stunt car doesn’t have any of the original car’s exotic materials or powertrain. Instead, this stunt car houses a 2.7-liter flat-six pushing out 240 hp. While it does have a manual transmission, this car is by no means road legal. As a result, the winner of the bid is winning a piece of movie memorabilia.

This Lykan HypersSport is up for sale as an NFT

As mentioned earlier, this Lykan HyperSport stunt car isn’t being sold alone. Instead, Rubix claims this auction also includes an NFT. Rubix claims this gives you:

“The highest bidder at the auction will receive an exclusive video of the NFT, a lifelike rendering of the stunt car, as well as the physical Lykan HyperSport stunt car that’s currently on display at the W Motors Gallery in Dubai, UAE.”

If this stunt car is the one for you, the bidding opens up officially on May 6th with an opening price of $100,000. While Rubix estimates this car will sell for as much as $2.5 million, that seems a bit optimistic.
