It’s finally time to let the Ford F-150 Raptor R out to play. But before you get too excited, remember that monster trucks have colossus prices. The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R isn’t an exception to this rule and could break the bank.
How much does the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R cost?
Drum roll, please! You can get started in the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R for $109,145. On a slightly positive note, this price includes the $1,795 destination fee, but it doesn’t include dealership markups.
If the price doesn’t scare you, then make haste. The order banks are already open, and this gigantic ride will be available this fall. The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX begins at around $78,790, allowing you to save about $30,355. That’s enough to buy a second vehicle.
According to Motor Authority, a fully loaded Ram 1500 TRX costs about $15,000 less than the Raptor R. Also, you can buy the regular Ford F-150 Raptor for $69,905 if you don’t mind missing out on V8 power.
How much power does the F-150 Raptor R have?
Are you ready to hear the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R? It comes with the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 Predator engine and cranks out 700 hp and 64 lb-ft of torque. In the Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500, this engine cranks out 760 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque.
The Raptor R has a little less power than expected. The 2022 Ram 1500 TRX is still king with 702 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque. But according to Ford, that’s fine. Horsepower isn’t everything. More focus was placed on the power-to-weight ratio.
Reportedly, five more hp won’t play a role in capability where Ford wants the Raptor R to win in the desert. The Raptor R weighs in at 5,590 hp, while the hefty Ram TRX tips the scales at 6,350 lbs.
Ford hasn’t shared how fast the Raptor R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph, but the Ram 1500 TRX can get there in about 3.7 seconds. Also, the TRX has a launch control mode, and the F-150 Raptor R doesn’t.
But the Raptor R got an updated 10-speed automatic transmission calibration to handle the extra power. The torque converter features a heavy-duty turbine damper and a four-pinion rear output assembly to keep things in check.
What comes with the 2023 Ford Raptor R?
The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R rides on 37-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, which are larger than the Ram 1500 TRXs tires. The Fox shocks and remote reservoirs, and front spring rates were increased by five percent to handle the extra weight.
The front axle is bolstered with a finned aluminum cover to improve heat dissipation, and a wiser air intake is aired with a high-flow conical air filter to increase intake by 66 percent. Also, the dual-exhaust system has a pass-through muffler and active valve system to control its roar.
Some of your money will go toward comfort. The interior features leather and suede seats with carbon fiber trim. But it has the same 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster and infotainment system as the regular Raptor.
