‘Venom 3’ Needs To Include Another Ducati
Venom, an out-of-this-world antihero, will return to the big screen in 2024. While Eddie Brock’s head-splitting action is the No. 1 reason to head to theaters for “Venom 3,” we’re also excited about the potential return of a Ducati motorcycle to the franchise. Considering Brock, played by Tom Hardy, rode a Ducati in the first two films, he should return astride a Scrambler or Panigale in the third installment.
Filmmakers would be doing ‘Venom 3’ a disservice by keeping Tom Hardy off of a Ducati
Sony Pictures says “Venom 3” will hit theatres in November of 2024. In the film, Tom Hardy will reprise his role as Eddie Brock, a fearless investigative journalist. Of course, the franchise isn’t about his journalistic pursuits. Instead, an extraterrestrial “symbiote” attaches itself to Brock in a symbiotic relationship wherein the title character shares a body with him.
Before and during Brock’s relationship with his symbiote, the Marvel Comics character rides a Ducati motorcycle on screen. Specifically, Brock rides a set of Ducati Scramblers in the 2018 film “Venom” and a Ducati Panigale V4 S in the 2021 sequel, “Venom: Let There Be Carnage.”
At this point, we associate Brock with Ducati motorcycles. It’s the closest man-to-motorcycle relationship we’ve had in recent Marvel films since the MCU put Chris Evans’ Captain America on a series of Harley-Davidsons. It stands to reason that the third film will include Tom Hardy on-screen and on a Ducati motorcycle.
However, the jump from the brand’s 73-horsepower 2018 Scrambler to its razor-sharp Panigale is significant. To give you an idea, the 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 S produces 214 horsepower at a stratospheric 13,000 rpm. It’s quite the departure from the comparably anemic longitudinal twin in the Scrambler. Perhaps to round out the list, we’ll see Brock on a fat-tire Diavel V4 or a Monster SP.
Tom Hardy is an avid motorcyclist off-screen, too
Beyond his on-screen portrayals of Eddie Brock and Venom, Tom Hardy likes to get in the wind in his off time. However, the celebrity prefers the work of his fellow Brits. He owns a versatile (and custom) Triumph Street Scrambler, which incidentally shares a segment with the Ducati Scrambler.
Also, the actor has tweeted images of him with his helmet and his Triumph Thruxton R in Silver Ice. I can’t fault him for that choice; I have had the same motorcycle for years. It’s a gem.
