Vin Diesel and Captain America Shop for Cars at the Same Place
SpeedKore is a Wisonsin-based custom muscle car builder. The shop’s signature approach includes carbon fiber body components and high horsepower engines. SpeedKore’s heart-stopping builds have caught the eye of Hollywood Royalty including Robert Downey Jr. and Jay Leno. Two of SpeedKore’s most unique vehicles were custom projects for Fast and Furious’ Vin Diesel and Captain America actor, Chris Evans.
Vin Diesel’s SpeedKore “Tantrum” Dodge Charger is a movie star
The Fast and Furious franchise helped to put SpeedKore on the map. One of Vin Diesel’s friends found the shop and ordered him a truly special birthday present: a heavily modified 1970 Dodge Charger.
First of all, the SpeedKore team found a 1970 Dodge Charger, mapped out its body, then built carbon fiber replicas of its front fenders and hood. The result was a menacing, lightweight muscle car.
To finish off the build, SpeedKore swapped in a powerful boat engine: a 9.0-liter Mercury Racing V8 that makes 1,650 horsepower. It paired this twin-turbocharged V8 with a Tremac T56 six-speed manual transmission.
SpeedKore named the resulting muscle car the “Tantrum” and it received Gran Turismo’s “Best Domestic” award at the 2015 SEMA show and Car Craft’s Pro Builder award in 2016.
Tantrum features a machined aluminum grille and matching trim all finished in gunmetal gray, instead of chrome. And in the place of paint, its forward body panels are clear-coated to show off its carbon fiber.
After Vin Diesel took delivery of the SpeedKore Tantrum, he decided it was too beautiful to not put on screen. His Fast and Furious character, Dominic Toretto, drives Tantrum in the latest two films of the franchise.

Robert Downey Jr. gifted a SpeedKore-built 1967 Camaro to Chris Evans
Another loyal SpeedKore customer is Ironman actor, Robert Downey Jr. He was so happy with his SpeedKore-built Mustang that he decided to order another muscle car for his friend and colleague: Captain America actor, Chris Evans.
Robert Downey Jr. collaborated with SpeedKore, helping select the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro to base the build on, its color, and other details. The result is the one-of-a-kind “Captain America” Camaro.
Chris Evans’ new ride features heritage styling and a unique gray-green color: Grigio Verde. Inside, the Camaro enjoys premium Recaro racing seats upholstered in unique “bomber brown” leather with “coffee brown” accents, classic instrument gauges, a classic Kenwood head unit, and Captain America’s insignia in the middle of the steering wheel.
SpeedKore dialed this Camaro up to 11: the company ordered a Chevrolet LS3 crate engine and installed a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger with a Wegner Performance front pulley drive system. Four-link rear suspension, front suspension courtesy of Detroit Speed, and 14-inch brake rotors all conspire to keep the Camaro firmly planted, even while cornering.

SpeedKore has won numerous awards
SpeedKore followed the “Tantrum” Charger with an even more extreme build. For its “Evolution” charger it mapped out an entire 1970 Dodge Charger, then replaced every single body panel with a carbon fiber panel. Then, the shop installed a 900+ horsepower SRT Demon engine. The resulting Charger won the Goodguys Gold award at the 2018 SEMA show.
Robert Downey Junior’s Mustang is a 1970 Boss 302 upgraded with a 5.0-liter “Aluminator” V8 by Ford Performance and a Roush Supercharger. This one-of-a-kind car took First Place in the Sport Touring Class at the 2019 Grand National Roadster Show as well as Best Heritage Vehicle at the 2018 SEMA Show.
