If you ever travel to the beautiful Northern Thailand city of Chiang Rai, you may encounter a peculiar site. A Thai man that bears a striking resemblance to Vin Diesel drives a Toyota disguised as the classic Dodge Charger from the Fast and Furious movie franchise

The Vin Diesel Thai look-alike actually did a “double disguise” for his car. He started with a 1970 Toyota Mark II. He gave it the grille of a Ford Mustang. Then, the Vin Diesel doppelganger painted it the jet black color like the Dodge Charger that the character Dom Toretto drove in Fast in Furious.

Vin Diesel Thailand has a Facebook page with many photos of his ‘Fast and Furious’ car

The Vin Diesel look-alike has a Facebook page with a plethora of photos of his Fast and Furious car. For his Facebook page, he uses the name “Sunday Modify” — or “อาทิตย์ โมดิฟาย” if you can read Thai. In one of the photos, he has the caption “Win Diesel Thailand.” There is no “v” in Thai language, so English words that have the letter “v” are pronounced with and written with a “w” in Thai.

“Win Diesel Thailand” really embraces the Dom Toretto persona in his photos. Along with a similar facial resemblance and a bald head like Dom Toretto, he often wears a sleeveless shirt and a large cross necklace. He also poses with a stoic look like the movie character. Additionally, to obtain the buff physique of Vin Diesel, “Win Diesel Thailand” pumps some iron, with many photos of him lifting weights and “getting ripped.”

1970 Dodge Charger R/T: The Car that Vin Diesel drove in ‘Fast in Furious’

The car model that Vin Diesel, aka Dom Toretto, drove in the Fast and Furious movie franchise is a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. In the original movie — The Fast and the Furious — Dom kept the Charger in his garage of the Toretto house. He and his father, a stock car driver, built it together when he was a child. The modified Charger was famous for its power (over 900 horsepower). It also boasted a 9-second quarter-mile time

Dom was afraid to drive the classic Charger, though. His father died while driving it in a stock car race accident. However, after some men shot and killed his friend Jesse, Dom got behind the wheel of the Charger in pursuit of the assailants. Brion O’Conner followed in his Toyota Supra, and they caught the assailants. Dom then showed the impressive power of the Charger. He did a wheelie during a drag race with Brian and his Supra.

Dom later rear-ended a semi-truck with the Charger. It flew through the air, flipping over multiple times. He survived with minor injuries, but the Charger had severe damage. However, the Charger was later repaired and restored in the third film in the franchise — Fast & Furious. It lived to see another day and featured in multiple adventures throughout the Fast and Furious series.

Did Vin Diesel Thailand upgrade his ride to a real Dodge Charger?

A more recent photo on the Facebook page of the Vin Diesel Thai look-alike shows him standing in front of a similar classic Dodge Charger. It’s unknown if he upgraded from his modified “Toyota Mark II/Ford Mustang/Dodge Charger” — or just posed in front of someone else’s car.

The Dodge Charger in the photo, like the one in Fast and Furious, features a “shaker scoop” — or an engine that’s popped out of the hood. The letters D-O-M are on top of the engine, and the license plate has “1969” on it.

It’s wonderful that the Vin Diesel Thai look-alike is passionate about the Fast and Furious and the classic Dodge Charger, even if he might not own a real one. Undoubtedly, he’s excited to find out what’s in store for the next movie in the franchise — Fast and Furious 10, which will be released in April 2023.
