Volkswagen has a lot of ground to cover in the electric vehicle space after the infamous Dieselgate scandal. The automaker was forced to pay serious fines after the EPA discovered that several of its vehicles were violating new carbon emission reduction policies. Now, Volkswagen is part of a group of several automakers that are leading the charge into the electric future. It’s even working on a multi-billion dollar charging network.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is currently Volkswagen’s best-selling electric model. According to Motor1, Volkswagen is increasing the ID.4’s range for 2022 and 2023. The 2022 model will get a boost above the previous 250-260 mile max range. All ID.4 models are getting a price increase as well.

While a price increase may not be ideal for consumers, a range boost means more practicality for the ID.4. The base model ID.4 Pro will start at $41,995 or $34,495 after electric vehicle tax credits.
