Give a shout-out, or meow, to our favorite truck cat, Walter. After waiting for months, Walter has returned with his 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. Walter was in a regular model, but that didn’t cut it for winter. Now he’s got an upgraded Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss.

Winter doesn’t stop Walter, the cat, from enjoying winter with his human pal and the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss. The new Trail Boss is ready to go off-roading straight from the factory, and Walter helps show off a few of its capabilities.
Walter enjoys activities that may typically be performed by a dog. He goes hiking, chases a hockey puck, pees on a fire hydrant, leads a pack of sled dogs, rides on a snowmobile, rescues a skier, and chases a mail carrier.
According to GM Authority, All of these activities wouldn’t be possible if he couldn’t ride in the Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss. He needs it to perform errands on snow-covered streets, for off-roading to get to the top of the mountain in deep snow, to haul a snowmobile, to power his campsite, and haul his gear.
Is the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss worth buying?
Yes, of course, the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss is worth buying. It’s Walter-approved! You can get started in the Chevy Silverado LT Trail Boss for about $52,000. This is a pretty good price for a full-sized off-roading truck.
According to GM Authority, the LT Trail Boss comes standard with the turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four engine with 310 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. It has a 20 percent increase in torque compared to the outgoing Silverado models.
You can upgrade to the 5.3-liter V8 engine for 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. With the 6.2-liter V8 engine, you get 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Last but not least, you can opt for the 3.0-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine for 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The Chevy Silverado Trail Boss can tow up to 9,300 lbs. This is plenty of power for hauling Walter’s snowmobiles. The regular Silverado can tow up to 13,400 lbs. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.4 seconds.
For off-roading, the Trail Boss LT includes:
- A two-inch suspension lift.
- Off-roading tuned shocks.
- Skid plates.
- 18-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.
- G80 locking differential.
- Red tow hooks.
Does the 2022 Silverado Trail Boss have nice features?
The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 Trail Boss was recently refreshed, providing only the best for Walter. The front end has been restyled across each trim level for a more attractive, confident look.
Plus, the interior design has been completely refreshed and now includes higher-quality cabin materials with a better layout. The Crew Cab is incredibly spacious in the front and second-row, with plenty of storage cubbies.
Walter can view his off-roading specs on the new 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that’s paired with a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included so that Walter can listen to his favorite purrcasts.
Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
