Car collectors can get competitive in auctions. A seemingly docile auction can become an all-out bidding war in the final moments. Well, that sort of action is part of the thrill of bidding in a Bring a Trailer auction. A social media personality found out what all the buzz is about by winning a pretty sweet classic car, a BMW E30 325i.

Daniel Mac’s excitement is palpable as the social media personality snags a super-low mileage BMW E30 classic car on Bring a Trailer

“It’s time to get a manual.” Music to my ears. That’s the sentiment that Public figure Daniel Mac had after selling his Tesla. Well, what better course correction than a fuel-swilling classic car and a five-speed manual transmission? To scratch the itch, Mac logged on to Bring a Trailer, a popular auction site for car enthusiasts.

Needless to say, Mac chose a pretty sweet target for his first Bring a Trailer auction. The 1987 BMW 325i convertible is a five-speed manual car with a sonorous 2.5L inline-six-cylinder engine. The black 325i features a Cardinal Red Bison interior and a black soft top. Better yet, the classic car’s mileage is around 35,000 miles. That’s an average of just 945 miles per year for 37 years.

Furthermore, Mac is no stranger to cool cars. Many of Mac’s videos feature supercars, private car collections, and celebrities in classic cars. Still, even with access to Ferrari F40s and new hypercars, Mac chose a babied E30 325i.

“I hate him,” Mac said about his bidding war adversary. However, after Mac shows a bit of his hand by revealing who he is, the other Bring a Trailer bidder writes “All yours Daniel. Enjoy the car!” Understandably, Mac is stoked after reading the comment. “What a man! What a man of the people,” Mac says after the concession. Moments later, Mac learns that he won the E30.

And excited he should be. Sure, the car collector is out around $24,500 for the E30-generation 3 Series Bimmer. However, with around 35,000 miles on the clock, the black E30 convertible is one of the closest examples to a new 1987 BMW 325i to go up for sale recently.
