Watch Rented Lamborghini Urus Blow a Stop Sign, Hit an SUV, Roll into a House, and Catch Fire Before Driver Flees
Cars crash. It happens all the time. Usually, someone makes a minor mistake, and their car gets a little banged up. But other times, people do insanely foolish things that lead to catastrophic and dangerous crashes. Take this Lamborghini Urus driver in Florida. Foolish driving usually leads to foolish crashes.
What did this Lamborghini Urus driver do?
According to CarScoops, 24-year-old William Dion McQueen Jr. was on his way to return a rented Lamborghini Urus when he blasted through a stop sign. Security footage from a nearby house shows the Lambo running the stop sign at what looks like a pretty good clip.
At the same time, a Nissan SUV came through the intersection and got T-boned by the Urus. The violent collision sent the Nissan spinning. However, the bull grew wings, flew through the air, and crash-landed on the roof of a nearby duplex. After it rolled off the roof and onto the ground, it came to rest on its roof and quickly caught fire.
The Miami Herald reported that a bystander who saw the crash approached the driver to help him escape the crushed Urus. Despite the dramatic crash, the driver insisted the Good Samaritan let him go, and he ran.
What happened to McQueen Jr.?
The driver later called the police and said he didn’t mean to flee the scene. He claimed he didn’t remember what happened after the crash and was “dazed and confused.” All he remembers is a stranger driving him to his hotel and a friend taking him to a Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
Local fire rescue, who responded to the call, reported only minor injuries for the Nissan driver. Although no one was hurt in the house, the home had to be vacated due to the extensive damage the flying Lamborghini Urus caused.
Interestingly, While speaking with WSVN-TV, a local resident said that the intersection is dangerous and that there have been three accidents there in one week.
How fast is the Lamborghini Urus?
Despite its SUV-ness, the Lamborghini Urus is a full-blown Lamborghini. It gets its mojo from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 641 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. This SUV can crack off a 0-60 mph sprint in only 3.6 seconds. These, of course, are the stock specs. There are stories of folks squeezing over 800 hp out of a Urus and crossing 200 mph – in an SUV. That is nuts.
Knowing the power the Urus possesses and the speeds it can hit, it’s no surprise that when a Urus blows a stop sign and gets in a big crash, it could get sent into low orbit before coming down to rest.
Thankfully, this crash didn’t end up as badly as it could have. Let this be a reminder to show supercars (SUVs) some respect when you’re behind the wheel.
