With the popularity of the high-performance Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck, it was only a matter of time before the Bronco would receive the Raptor treatment as well. That time is now, for Ford just released a sneak peek teaser video of the Ford Bronco Raptor off-road SUV. Watch it now!

Ford Bronco Raptor teaser video

As you can see, there is not much that you can glean from the Bronco Raptor teaser video. Ford is keeping things close to the vest. Perhaps the automaker doesn’t want to spoil the eventual unveiling of the Bronco Raptor. Building up anticipation can be a good thing. Also, Ford may have not yet hammered out the details of the finished product. We’ll have to wait and see.

The video shows a close-up shot of the front fascia of the Bronco Raptor. The current Bronco model has the Bronco name on the front of the grille. However, in the teaser video, the Ford name is on the grille, similar to previous Raptor models. Also, like the F-150 Raptor truck, the Bronco Raptor features orange daytime running lights.

After that, the video shows the Bronco Raptor disappearing into a cloud of dust that the SUV churned up on a desert landscape. The cloud of dust is a good metaphor for the hazy details about the Bronco Raptor. The video then concludes with a large Raptor logo on the screen, along with a tagline of “coming 2022.”

What features will the Bronco Raptor have?

With not much to go on with the teaser video, all we can do is speculate about the design and features of the Bronco Raptor. However, given the Raptor name, the Bronco Raptor will certainly have many of the attributes of the F-150 Raptor. Like previous Raptor models, the Bronco Raptor should be strong on the performance front, with many performance enhancements. It will likely get a sturdier frame and an upgraded suspension with Fox Racing shocks.

Also, you can expect to see a boost in power output for the Bronco Raptor. The current Bronco model offers 2.3-liter and 2.7-liter variants of EcoBoost engines. However, according to reports, the Bronco Raptor will get a 3.0-liter variant. The 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine in the high-performance Explorer ST SUV generates 400 hp. Undoubtedly, the Bronco Raptor will come equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Based on spy photos, the Bronco Raptor will roll on 35-inch tires. Like the F-150 Raptor, the Bronco Raptor will offer the option to upgrade to 37-inch versions.

With all of the performance upgrades, the Bronco Raptor is most suited for high-speed off-roading in the desert. It’s not a vehicle that you would use on terrain with large rocks. However, if you want to bombard through off-road terrain very fast, then it should be a great SUV for you.

What’s the pricing and release date of the Bronco Raptor?

The “coming 2022” that you see in the Bronco Raptor teaser video is all we know right now about the release date for the Bronco Raptor. Ford has not yet given any indication about when specifically the Bronco Raptor will be available in 2022.

The pricing of the Bronco Raptor is not yet available, either. The 2021 Bronco has a base price of $28,500, while the Bronco Wildtrak 4-door model costs $49,475. However, the price of the Bronco Raptor will certainly be much higher.

With the teaser video, Ford finally confirmed that there will be a Bronco Raptor. The teaser video leaves a lot to the imagination. All we can do now is speculate and patiently wait in anticipation for the reveal of the high-performance off-road SUV.
