Watch the New 2024 Chevy Trax in Chevy’s Latest Video
For one year, the Chevy Trax will disappear. But an all-new 2024 Chevy Trax is on the way with so many improvements, it’s hard to believe Chevy kept the same name. The new Trax is bigger, more stylish, and will have more power than the rolling penalty box that was offered until the 2022 model year. Now, finally, we have a video that shows what should be the brand’s least expensive vehicle in action.
The new video shows new details of the new 2024 Chevy Trax
In October, the new 2024 Chevy Trax was announced, but we only had a few pictures and gifs of the new Trax. Finally, we have a video from Chevy showing the new Trax SUV from most angles, and it looks like a slightly smaller version of the Blazer. The video highlights the new ACTIV trim, which has a monochromatic, or single-color, look with titanium chrome accents and a funky rear skid plate. It also shows off the RS trim, which is quickly becoming Chevy’s go-to moniker for street attitude in its SUVs.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new 2024 Chevy Trax is 11 inches longer and two inches wider.
What trim levels will the new 2024 Chevy Trax come in?
The Trax can be ordered in a variety of trims, from the basic to the sporty. The new Trax may be entry level, but Chevy is adding a lot to the premium trim levels. For example, heated front seats and steering wheel, as well as remote start, are standard on the 1RS, 2RS and ACTIV model, and available on the LT. The LS can get heated seats.
All Trax SUVs come with a new 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. Chevy rates it at 137 horsepower, and it’s mated to a six-speed transmission to keep it in the powerband longer.
Inside, it gets several premium touches
The new Trax comes with two screens, one in the center of the dash and one in the gauge cluster. Base trims get an eight-inch touchscreen, while the higher level trims get an 11-inch touchscreen. The Trax comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with the new interior and larger screens comes standard Chevy Safety Assist, which means it gets automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and other features standard.
Also, Chevrolet has added a flat-bottomed steering wheel for a sporty feel. Flat-bottomed wheels gained favor in sports car, but are now finding their way into other vehicles because they not only feel cool in your hands, but they give a lot of us needed thigh room when we sit down.
How much is a new 2024 Chevy Trax?
Every new Trax costs less than $25,000. The top two trim levels, the 2RS and the ACTIV, have an MSRP of $24,995. The new 2024 Chevy Trax should have a MSRP of $21,495 in base LS trim. The mid-level 1RS starts $23,195, and the LT is $200 more. GM is planning to start production in the new year, according to GMAuthority. They should start arriving at dealers in the spring of 2023.
