Although it seems like most folks enjoy their full-size pickup truck with four full-size doors, not everybody needs that. At the same time, having some form of rear doors can be convenient for a full-size truck. And that’s where the 2023 Ford F-150 SuperCab comes in. It is available to the XL and XLT trims.

What does SuperCab mean on the F-150?

The 2023 Ford F-150 has three cab configurations, and the SuperCab is one of them. The SuperCab, or Super Cab, is available for the F-150 XL and the F-150 XLT. At first glance, it might look like the SuperCab has only two doors. But it does actually have four. It is just that the rear doors are smaller than what you are probably used to. 

The rear doors on the Ford F-150 SuperCab do open backward as well. Even so, it will still be easier for rear passengers to enter this full-size truck. And you do get slightly more room in your cabin. There are three bed options for this pickup truck, including an 8-foot bed if you find yourself needing extra room for cargo.

How many seats does an F-150 SuperCab have?

In terms of seating, a 2023 Ford F-150 SuperCab can seat up to six passengers. That means three people in the front and three people in the rear. The SuperCab does not have the same kind of cab space as the SuperCrew. 

In terms of cost, the cheapest SuperCab F-150 starts at $38,305. That is more expensive than the regular cab. But you do get the benefits of four doors, even if they aren’t all full-size. 

Can you buy a 2023 Ford F-150?

You can buy a new F-150, but it depends on which configuration that you are interested in. Ford has stated that demand for some models has exceeded supply. And that means you might not be able to purchase the exact truck that you want to buy. 

According to Ford Authority, you also can’t get the Ford F-150 Lariat with the SuperCab anymore. In the past, this option was available to most F-150 models. But now Ford has decided to limit it to the two base trims. And considering who is interested in a SuperCab, that does make sense. It does lend itself to being a good work truck. 

The 2023 F-150 continues the legacy

There’s no getting around the fact that full-size trucks are now status symbols. Despite this, the new Ford F-150 is still a pickup truck that is highly capable and versatile. For nearly 45 years, F-series trucks have been one of the best-selling vehicles in the United States. 

The 2023 F-150 offers a range of powertrain options, modern features, and some trims that honestly feel like a luxury car. But this pickup has not forgotten its roots. The base XL and XLT trims are ready to get down and dirty. Plus, the availability of the SuperCab makes them a solid option to be a work truck or fleet vehicle. Even if the SuperCab is not the most popular cabin option.
