What is the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e Range?
Lexus recently announced its first electrified sport utility vehicle, the 2023 RZ 450e. The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e range is respectable for this luxury electric SUV, and it comes with two trims to choose from. Check out the 2023 Lexus RZ price and safety technology below, and be on the lookout for the RZ on the road. Lexus says this EV is already on sale and headed to dealerships soon.
The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e range is between 196 and 220 miles
According to the press release from Lexus, the new RZ 450e is the brand’s first dedicated battery electric vehicle. It also uses the e-TNGA platform, which “provides stability and ride comfort.” This new lightweight steel version offers a lighter body but increased rigidity.
This also helps with range. The RZ 450e has a 71.4 kWh battery that gets 308 horsepower. Lexus says the zero to 60 mph time is 5.0 seconds. Drivers can choose 18″ wheels that get an EPA-estimated range rating of up to 220 miles. That works out to an MPGe rating of 115/98/107 (city/highway/combined). The 20″ wheels get an EPA-estimated MPGe of 102/87/95 (city/highway/combined) or a range of 196 miles.
The 2023 Lexus RZ 450e uses a new all-wheel drive system called DIRECT4. This technology was first seen in the new 2023 Lexus RX and is now utilized in the RZ.
“RZ’s DIRECT4 system utilizes two high-output, high-torque eAxle units that each drive a wheel set, one in the front (150-kW) and the other at the rear (80-kW).”

To make the most of the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e range, a Level 1 charging cable for 120V outlets with a CCS socket makes that easy. Lexus says the RZ 450e can charge from zero to 100% State of Charge (SoC) in 9.5 hours with a Level 2 charger. With a DC Fast Charger, it can charge from zero to 80% SoC in 30 minutes.
How much will the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e cost?
For those interested in the RZ, the new 450e Premium with all-wheel drive starts at $58,500, while the RZ 450e Luxury starts at $64,000.
Model | Model Name | MSRP + DPH | Range |
9902 | Premium AWD W/ 18″ Wheels | $59,650 | 220 miles |

In addition to the other factors, the 2023 RZ will get Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. This includes items like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, and Left Turn Oncoming Vehicle Detection/Braking. All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist are also part of LSS+ 3.0.
Lexus also has two systems called Road Sign Assist and Proactive Driving Assist that help keep the driver alert and informed.
When can I buy the RZ 450e?
Lexus hopes to sell 100% battery electric vehicles by 2035, and the RZ is one step closer to that. Inside the luxury electric SUV, Lexus focused on a “minimalist, yet airy and maximally appointed luxury environment.” This improves visibility and feels more open throughout the cabin. A new smart-function low-e coating on the panorama glass roof helps suppress radiant heat and replaces the outdated roller shade function.
The tazuna concept inspired the driver-focused interior. Some of these elements include steering wheel-mounted switches, a repositioned instrument panel to make the view clearer, and the addition of a 10-inch Head-Up Display (HUD). Drivers should find the navigation, audio, and driving mode buttons within reach.
The 2023 RZ 450e is built at the Motomachi Plant in Toyota City and can be ordered now. As part of the Lexus Electrified Future, the RZ is off to a good start.
