The age of the family-hauling minivan is long gone, with crossover SUVs taking their spot as the preferred means of travel for families all across the country. Even though the trusty minivan has all but disappeared from most automotive brand lineups, there is a ton of value to be found in minivans, even today. Minivans are typically more efficient with cargo space with seats that can be folded directly into the floor, or removed entirely.

But most of all, minivans are also cheaper than crossover SUVs on average. Take the Honda Odyssey for example, it has the same drivetrain as the Honda Pilot, and offers more cargo and passenger space than the Pilot, but is offered at a much lower price due to the minivan’s body style. Of course, there is no way to even talk about the minivan class of vehicles without bringing up the vehicle that started it all; the Dodge Grand Caravan.

Unfortunately, the Grand Caravan ended production in 2020, but if you are looking to save some money on your next family hauler, why not spring for the newest Grand Caravan you can buy today? Here is everything you need to know about the 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan trim levels and features you can expect with this final-year minivan.

2020 Dodge Grand Caravan: price and specs

2020 was the final year for the Dodge Grand Caravan, and in that model year, the Grand Caravan was also the cheapest minivan you could buy.

When new, the 2020 Grand Caravan started at $29,025, and today, according to Consumer Reports, these used 2020 models can be found for as low as $19,775. With popular minivans like the 2023 Honda Odyssey going for $37,340, the 2020 Caravan is an absolute steal today.

Every 2020 Grand Caravan is equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine that produces 283 horsepower and reaches fuel economy numbers of around 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. Front-wheel drive is the only driveline option, and the Caravan seats seven comfortably.

Every Grand Caravan also comes standard with Chrysler’s Stow ‘n Go seats, allowing drivers to easily stow unused seats into the floor. This keeps on-demand cargo space high at all times without having to pull seats out of the van.

2020 Dodge Grand Caravan trim levels and features

The 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan can be found in three main trim levels. These trim levels include the SE, which serves as the base model, SE Plus, which is the midrange model, and the SXT, which is the top-of-the-line model.

The Dodge Grand Caravan SE base model is equipped with Stow ‘n Go seating for the third row, tri-zone climate control, remote keyless entry, a rearview camera, a 6.5-inch touch screen, and an automatic-dimming rearview mirror.

The SE Plus version of Grand Caravan adds Stow ‘n Go seating to the second row, an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth audio, a USB port, and fog lights, among other features.

Finally, the Grand Caravan SXT trim is the premium version and adds leather seating, a power liftgate, power sliding doors, and available heated steering wheel and heated seats.

Which trim level is the best?

According to Car and Driver, you really can’t go wrong with the Dodge Grand Caravan SE Plus thanks to its added second-row Stow ‘n Go seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB port. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is also a nice boost for interior quality.

Unfortunately, the Dodge Grand Caravan is not the best option for a used minivan, however. The Grand Caravan is a good minivan if you are on a budget, but you are much better off finding a used Chrysler Pacifica or Honda Odyssey in the same price range.

These options offer a much better experience with more modern technology than the Grand Caravan.
