The 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat is the highest of the three available trims for the new pickup truck. It costs a little more but gives plenty of standard equipment you can’t find in the XL or XLT models. There’s always room to add any of the extra packages, options, and equipment. Opting for the Lariat means you may not need to add a thing. Here’s everything that comes with the highest Lariat trim level.

Which engine comes with the Lariat?

Like every trim level for the 2022 Ford Maverick, the Lariat comes with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine. The hybrid engine is standard on every Maverick model, as is front-wheel drive. The other option is the 2.0-liter EcoBoost gas-only engine which is the only way to get all-wheel drive. It’ll cost you just over $1,000 extra on the Lariat model.

With the hybrid engine, the Lariat build will start at $25,490. If buyers wish to avoid the hybrid engine and go with the EcoBoost, it takes a small hop to $26,575. We recommend staying with the standard hybrid engine. Look elsewhere if you need AWD or don’t want a hybrid powertrain.

Every 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat comes with Equipment Group 500A. This package offers LED headlamps with signature lighting, a 6.5″ LED instrument cluster screen, and Intelligent Access with push-button start. It also comes with an 8-way power driver’s seat, a noise-reducing windshield, a power sliding rear window, and ambient lighting. Dual-zone automatic temperature control and the FLEXBED with cubby storage top off the package.

All of the equipment is available in the other Maverick models. They are scattered throughout various packages and not all in one place. The Lariat is the cheapest way to get all these features for one price. Equipment Group 500A is the only standard equipment package that comes with the Lariat trim level.

Starting from the bottom, 18″ bright aluminum wheels are wrapped in 225/60 R18 100H A/S BSW tires. The interior comes with the Desert Brown color and ActiveX front bucket seats. An AM/FM radio with 6-speakers is included, with the B&O premium 8-speaker audio system being optional. The interior isn’t the most luxurious as far as technology or materials. The Maverick is so affordable because costs were cut in places like the interior.

According to Ford’s build & price tool, the final price after destination charges and the acquisition fee comes to $27,630. For a lease payment, that comes to $290 per month for 39 months with $2,699 down at signing. The payment coming in under $300 is nice for anyone’s wallet. However, for significantly cheaper, the XLT might be a better option. The middle-trim XLT 2022 Ford Maverick comes with almost identical equipment but ends up with a price tag of $24,420. Adding the XLT Luxury Package will make it even more premium, and it’s cheaper than the Lariat trim.

The 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat is a great way to gain standard options. Though it ends up being a lot more costly than the XLT without a ton of extra beef. We don’t think the Lariat trim level is worth it for 2022. We would rather stay with XLT or even the base XL instead. The draw of the Maverick is its hybrid powertrain and affordable price. The Lariat starts to bring it just out of that “affordable” range.
