The 2022 Ford Maverick XLT is the middle option of the three trims available to the new pickup truck. It is one of the most anticipated 2022 model year vehicle releases by far. Reservations are above and beyond what anyone expected, and the great features just keep rolling out. The XLT trim keeps the Maverick remarkably affordable but adds plenty of great options.

What standard features does a 2022 Ford Maverick XLT have?

The 2022 Ford Maverick XLT comes with plenty of features within its Equipment Group 300A package. This is the first thing included in the XLT trim and has plenty of great options. A painted gray grille bar, Navy Pier and Medium Slate interior with orange accents, power exterior side-view mirrors, a power locking tailgate, cruise control, and FLEXBED with one rear cubby storage and ten pickup box tie-downs.

The XLT also comes on 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, which are an upgrade from the base model’s 17-inch Sparkle Silver Steel wheels. Unique cloth bucket seats are the standard in this model’s interior, as is the 2.5-liter hybrid engine. Front-wheel drive is standard in all Maverick’s equipped with the hybrid engine. An AM/FM radio with six speakers is the standard sound system included in the XLT.

How much does a base XLT cost?

When equipped with the 2.5-liter hybrid engine and zero additional options, the 2022 Ford Maverick XLT costs $24,420. That’s a monthly lease payment of $245 for 24 months with $2,378 down at signing. This price includes everything, destination charges, acquisition fee, and the base MSRP.

For the included equipment in the XLT trim level, it comes at a very affordable price. A standard pickup truck of this size starts much higher than $24,420, which would quickly put a lease payment well into $300+ per month. Like any vehicle, plenty of extras can be thrown onto the XLT. This comes at a cost but will bolster the included equipment to ensure your Maverick has everything you need.

Features to add at a great value

There are plenty of other features available to the Maverick, but at a certain point, you might as well upgrade to the Lariat. Without doing that, there are some important features you can add at a great value. To get the most bang for your buck, go with the XLT Luxury Package.

The XLT Luxury Package takes a lot of the best-unincluded features together for one price. Highlights of the package include a 400W/110V inverter, bed tie-down locking rails, a spray-in bed liner, full-size spare, heated mirror, heated seats, remote start, heated steering wheel, and much more. That’ll come to potential buyers for an additional $2,345.

Overall, the 2022 Ford Maverick XLT is probably the best value version of the truck available. The Lariat starts adding so much it becomes as expensive as other trucks, and the base model just doesn’t have enough equipment. The XLT is the perfect middle ground, both affordable and premium. We highly recommend the XLT trim along with the high-value XLT Luxury Package to maximize equipment at an affordable price.
