Surprisingly, the $26,290 Sport trim for the Jeep Renegade is well-equipped. According to Edmunds, a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is standard for every version of the subcompact SUV. In addition, front-wheel drive is the default, with optional all-wheel drive available. However, AWD is standard on the Limited and Latitude models, while a Renegade Trailhawk gets an exclusive four-wheel drive.

Next, the entry-level model has 16-inch steel wheels, heated mirrors, push-button ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. In addition, tech isn’t bad either with navigation, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, six speakers, and satellite radio. Finally, every Renegade comes with a suite of standard safety items. These include forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure mitigation, and trailer sway damping.

Upgrading to the most popular 2022 Jeep Renegade trim adds a lot. It’s very obvious why most customers are buying this version of the subcompact SUV. Niceties like standard all-wheel drive, alloy wheels, automatic headlights, foglights, roof rails, and keyless entry make the Latitude model more attractive. Next, for $30,740, owners also gain remote start, an upgraded driver information display, an upgraded cloth upholstery, rear USB ports, and tinted rear windows.

The real draw, however, is the optional packages unlocked with the Renegade Latitude. They are the Altitude package, Convenience group package, and Sun and Sound Group package. Features in these packages enhance the Jeep SUV quite a bit, with things like a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and much more.

Are the Limited or Trailhawk trims worth it?

Only buy a 2022 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk if you plan to take it off-roading. However, other than forward collision mitigation, it comes with all the same equipment as the Latitude trim. Then, it adds the Convenience Group package, all-terrain tires, a raised suspension, front and rear tow hooks, underbody skid plates, hill descent control, a full-size spare tire, and a matte black hood decal. Furthermore, even more options are available with the off-road trim level.

For example, the Luxury Group package contains LED headlights and leather upholstery; the Trailer Tow Group package offers a Class III towing hitch and a four-pin wiring harness. Finally, Trailhawk buyers can buy the Sun and Sound Group package, adding a panoramic sunroof and a nine-speaker Kenwood audio system.

Lastly, at the top of the lineup is the $32,740 Limited model. Like the Trailhawk, it builds on the Latitude features but heads in the direction of luxury instead of off-road readiness. Renegade Limited models gain 18-inch wheels, the Convenience Group package, and leather upholstery. The package features automatic wipers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a heated/leather steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a 115-volt outlet.

Furthermore, the range-topper gets access to two more packages, the Luxury Group package and Sun, Sound, and Wheels Group package. These include LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, automated parking, rear parking sensors, automatic rear braking, the Sun and Sound group, and 19-inch wheels.
