What Do Chris Pratt, a Cat, a Steer, and a Chevy Silverado ZR2 Have in Common?

What Do Chris Pratt, a cat, a steer, and a Chevy Silverado ZR2 Have in common? Chevrolet enlisted Pratt, a cat, and a steer to plug the first-ever Silverado ZR2. The always amusing Pratt joined forces with the cat and steer on a ranch in an entertaining Silverado ZR2 TV commercial.

By all accounts, Chis Pratt seems like an affable person. His appeal can partially be attributed to his ability to put himself out there and make fun of himself. Pratt also comes across as an approachable “regular guy.” He enjoys finding common ground with others. These attributes were on full display when Pratt joined forces with a cat and a steer to plug the first-ever 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2 off-road truck in a new TV commercial.

The TV spot makes good use of Pratt’s “everyman” appeal. It features Pratt on the ranch with his good buddy, a steer, that he tows in a trailer with the Silverado ZR2. Pratt speaks glowingly about the capabilities of the Silverado ZR2, saying, “Ranch life is not as glamorous as it sounds, but with this beauty, I can do it all.” He follows that by cheekily looking into the camera and says, “and look good doing it.”

Chris Pratt tries to play the tough guy role by disavowing Walter the cat

Pratt then delves into the impressive camera features of the Silverado, saying, “The available camera views are out of this world.” We then see a shot of an adorable cat pawing on a stack of hay in the bed of the truck. Pratt then tries to maintain a tough guy on the ranch image and disavows the cat, “Walter! Come on. You know he’s not even my cat.” However, as anyone familiar with Pratt can attest, the actor has a sweet and sensitive side. Deep down, you know he has a soft spot for Walter the cat.

Pratt also highlights the in-trailer camera of the Silverado ZR2, saying to his steer buddy, “Moo twice if you’re good.” We only hear the steer moo once. Considering that the steer was reluctant to board the trailer, only one moo may mean he’s not so good.

The video concludes with Pratt pulling the Silverado ZR2 into a barn and letting the steer out of the trailer. Perhaps the reason that the steer is not in good spirits is that he is jealous of Pratt’s Silverado ZR2. Pratt says, “Just because I got a new truck, it doesn’t mean I’m not going to pay attention to you.”

Chevrolet pulled out all of the stops with Chris Pratt and other celebrities for the Silverado ZR2

Despite the fictional nature of the TV commercial, Pratt actually owns a ranch in real life, which makes him a good spokesperson for the Silverado ZR2. In addition to Pratt, Chevrolet enlisted some other celebrities to assist with the reveal of the off-road truck. This includes Chase Elliott, a NASCAR Cup Series champion, Chad Paul, an off-road racer and engineer, BRELAND, a platinum-selling artist, and Michele Tafoya, a sportscaster for NBC Sports.

The Silverado ZR2 is an important model for Chevrolet. With its off-road prowess, it looks to compete with other off-road trucks like the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 TRX. Chevrolet put Pratt to good use for the Silverado ZR2 reveal and commercial. He could maximize his comedic chops and pleasant personality with a cat and steer while getting the job done on the ranch with the Silverado ZR2.
