The 2023 Genesis GV70 is a compact luxury SUV of the highest quality. The vehicle is rightly acclaimed as the best in its class for its wide variety of features and excellent performance. The GV70 isn’t the only Genesis model experiencing an uptick in reviews and sales this year. The South Korean manufacturer has multiple SUVs in its product line, all with slightly different specs and price points. Read on to learn which model is the most affordable Genesis SUV.

Pricing for the 2023 Genesis GV70

Per Genesis, the base model of the Genesis GV70, also known as the 2.5T, has an MSRP of $43,150, and the premium 3.5T trim costs $55,250. The price for an all-electric version of the SUV, which debuted this year, starts at $65,850.

The SUV market has grown significantly in the past couple of years, and each version of the GV70 is available at a competitive price when compared to the competition. Other luxury vehicles like the Lexus RX are more expensive than the 2.5T. The electrified GV70 is on the higher end of the financial scale than other options such as the Cadillac Lyriq, Hyundai Ioniq 5, or other Genesis SUVs (more on that below), but it is much more attainable than the 2024 BMW iX while providing an excellent driving experience.

This year’s renditions of the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade are considered by some to be the best SUVs of the year, but neither has the same upscale feel as the GV70.

The 2.5T offers a lot of features for its price

The 2.5T Genesis GV70 has a more impressive skillset than one might expect from a base model.

It is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged I-4 engine that produces 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque and features an eight-speed automatic transmission and an advanced all-wheel drive system. The GV70 is reliable in different kinds of terrain thanks to the Drive Mode Select feature that comes with Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+, and Custom settings.

In line with its luxury aspirations, the SUV is fitted out with many safety and driver-assist systems, such as:

  • Blind-spot monitors
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Rear cross-traffic detection and parking sensors
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Driver drowsiness monitor
  • Safe Exit Assist
  • Forward collision-avoidance assist
  • Lane following assist
  • High beam assist

Drivers and passengers are made more comfortable by the GV70 thanks to leather upholstery, a 12-way power driver’s seat with four-way power lumbar support, an eight-way power passenger seat, and heated front seats.

A 14.5-inch color touchscreen display with a nine-speaker sound system includes navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Genesis Connected Services by default. It can be accessed through touch or voice controls, as well as a rotary controller mounted on the console.

Other features of the most affordable Genesis SUV include a wireless charging pad, an eight-inch driver information display, four USB charge ports, and two 12-volt outlets.

How does the most affordable Genesis SUV compare to other Genesis SUVs?

Genesis has two other SUV models in its lineup: the GV60 and GV80

The GV60 gets 314 hp over a 248-mile range from its 234kW dual motor. Drivers can use Face Connect, a system that scans a person’s face with a near-infrared camera, and biometric fingerprint recognition to unlock and start the SUV without using a key.

The GV60 also comes with Remote Smart Parking Assist technology that helps the car automatically parallel or perpendicular park while the driver is outside of the car. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen is smaller than in the GV60, but it is connected to a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system and an Active Noise Control system that uses multiple interior microphones to send cancel out excess noise.

The 2.5T GV80 gets 300 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque from its engine, features an optional three-row setup to provide more seating or cargo space at a moment’s notice, and comes with many of the same assist features as other Genesis SUVs.

Both the GV60 and GV80 are worthwhile vehicles that will please most drivers, but if cost is a factor, then neither is the best option. The GV60 costs $59,290 and the price of the GV80 starts at $55,800, making the 2.5T GV70 the most affordable Genesis SUV on the market.
