The SUV market in America is bigger than ever, and the Palisade is Hyundai’s latest large SUV. The Palisade is a large and luxurious SUV that comes with a lot of standard features. Here’s an overview of the standard features on the Hyundai Palisade.

Comfort features

The Palisade, at its core, is an SUV meant for carrying a lot of people, but it also does it comfortably. U.S. News says that the Palisade comes standard with three rows of seats, with bench seats in its second and third rows. These seats allow the Palisade to comfortably seat up to eight adults. 

U.S. News says that these seats have a cloth upholstery and were very comfortable. Hyundai also offers a six-way adjustable driver’s seat as well as power-folding second-row seats as standard. On top of that, access to the third row is easy thanks to the simple one-touch access capability of the Palisade. Air vents in these rear seats also make sitting in the back a more comfortable experience. Another notable feature is the Palisade’s automatic lift gate system which will open and close the liftgate hands free. 

Additionally, U.S. News reports that the interior quality and design of the Palisade was regarded by reviewers as being “upscale” and very “high quality.” Autoblog, in particular, says that the interior of the Palisade was shockingly good. This is in part helped by the Palisade’s standard 3.8-liter V6 engine, which allows the Palisade to have a comfortable amount of power without being overpowering. It also gets a decent 22 combined MPG fuel economy to boot.

Tech features

The standard Palisade, which Hyundai says starts at about $31,500, comes with a lot of high-tech features. The most notable one is that the Palisade has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well as an 8-inch touchscreen display as standard. The Palisade’s touchscreen is also compatible with Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, Bluetooth is standard on the Palisade. 

On top of that, there are five standard USB ports on the Palisade. U.S. News says that three of them are in the front and two of them are in the second row. This allows everyone in the Palisade to charge or connect their phone or other entertainment system to the SUV. 

Safety features

Hyundai takes safety seriously, and the Palisade is an example of an SUV that’s simply loaded with standard smart safety features. This is thanks to Hyundai’s Smart Sense safety package, which is standard on even the most basic model of the Palisade. Smart Sense offers a suite of smart safety features that are typically expensive options on other SUVs. 

Some of these features, according to Hyundai, include: forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a pedestrian detection system, lane keep assist, rear parking sensors, and even adaptive cruise control. That said, smart safety features aren’t just about preventing a crash, they can also be about preventing other dangerous situations from happening. 

For example, the Palisade has, as standard, a driver attention monitoring system as well as a rear occupant alert system. The driver attention monitoring system, according to Hyundai, will detect when the driver may potentially be tired or sleeping, and it will then alert the driver to ensure that they are paying attention and fully awake. This can prevent a crash but it can also prevent other accidents from happening.

For instance, when combined with the rear occupant alert system, which will alert the driver to check the rear seats for occupants when the engine is turned off, the Palisade can help prevent hot car deaths from happening.
