These features are standard on all Tiguans

The 2020 Tiguan starts at $24,945 and offers up a lot of standard features for the price. Seating for five to seven, it gets 23-25 mpg combined. 2020 brings newly standard active safety features including rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking.

You’ll also enjoy Volkswagen’s Car-Net system, which includes remote start, vehicle location, and remote locking and unlocking. This comes free for five years. 

The Tiguan comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard as well and has 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, although it does require a data plan. All trims come with front-wheel drive, and two rows are standard as well, making the talked about third-row optional.

But you will get the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat and a 6.5-inch touchscreen display on the infotainment system. And all Tiguans have a standard eight-speed transmission with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. 

What about the extras?

With plenty of space for cargo and passengers and a third-row to use in a pinch, the Tiguan is already a win. All those standard features make it even more so. With five trims to choose from, there are plenty of extras to choose from. Above the standard entry line S trim, you’ll have the SE, SE R-Line Black, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line.

Options at these levels include a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, leather upholstery, keyless access, push-button start, wireless device charging, a digital instrument panel, and a premium stereo from Fender. You can also get available automatic high-beam headlights, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

For the SEL trim, you’ll add a heated steering wheel and automatic wipers, while the R-Line models are sporty and give some extra flair.
