What Features Come Standard on the Dodge Durango?
The rugged-looking 2020 Dodge Durango certainly looks like a classic sports utility vehicle. However, its SUV credentials hide the smooth ride, ease of handling, and spacious, efficient interior. The Durango line-up offers the comfort of a car with the heavy-duty abilities of a truck. Additionally, the Durango’s towing capacity makes it the perfect family vehicle for those who like to get out and enjoy nature.
2020 Dodge Durango
Dodge has not made any significant changes to the 2020 model even though the current iteration has been on the market for a decade. Nevertheless, the Durango offers many compelling features that keep this SUV an always popular vehicle.
Engine Options
Buyers can stay with a standard V6 290 horsepower engine or choose between the two V8 options. These are a 5.7-liter V8 that offers 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, and a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that delivers 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Hemi V8 is only available on the Durango SRT.
Towing Capacity
The towing capacity of the Durango will give competitors a run for their money. The V6 can haul up to 6,200 pounds. The 5.7-liter V8 can haul up to 7,400 lbs., and the SRT comes in as the leader among its like-sized peers, with a towing capacity of 8,700 lbs.
Interior Upgrades
2020 has one new aesthetic upgrade in its Premium Interior Group, which includes a “premium wrapped instrument panel, real carbon fiber interior accents, and a suede headliner.” Of course, each trim package offers unique choices to make your Durango your own.

Top of the Line Durango SRT
Dodge Durango SRT can hold its own next to pricier imports like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the BMW X5M. However, the SRT brings to the table the street cred and history of the all-American muscle car. To prove it, Dodge shoehorned the exhaust system so that the SRT screams with commanding authority.
The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with its 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque allows the SRT to reach 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. All this power could make the SRT unstable. However, the four-wheel, power sending eight-speed transmission keeps the Durango stable and grounded.
Getting all this power doesn’t come cheap. The base price of the SRT® is $64,490, and choosing extra options can push the price close to $80,000. The Technology Group Package includes “adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and forward collision avoidance systems,” which costs $2,395. The Premium Interior Group will add another $2,495.
Want some stripes that will set you back $1,195. High-performance brakes, tack on $1,295. And on and on. However, the reality is for those who buy a Durango SRT, price is not a concern.
