Honda has a family of consumer-friendly and fan-loved vehicles. The Passport is certainly no exception. If you’re looking to test drive one of these to consider adding a Passport to your garage family, you might be interested in sorting through all the available versus standard features. We thought it might be helpful by itemizing the standard equipment first, so you can then determine which extras fit your lifestyle the best.

The basics under the hood

There are four trim levels and a series of packages to help enhance your Passport to suit your needs. Under the hood, however, you’ll have the same engine. You won’t mind, though, because the i-VTEC 3.5L V6, partnered with the nine-speed automatic transmission, offers plenty of power. In fact, your off-road adventures will feel effortless with 280 horses and 262 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain is just enough to make the Passport capable, without overly compromising the fuel efficiency. You’ll enjoy 22 mpg combined, with the front-wheel-drive models.

What’s new for 2020?

No real changes are evident for 2020 in terms of design and engineering. You will, however, see a few extras in standard equipment. The 20-inch gloss-black wheels look sharp, and you do have AWD availability on all models above the base model. We found reviews suggesting the torque-vectoring AWD is impressive with its 4-mode traction management.

Passport standard equipment on the outside

In addition to the attention-grabbing wheels, there are a few exterior standard features you’ll love with your Passport. Automatic LED headlights and LED fog lights are essential for visibility. The black matte black grille is more of a style preference that you’ll appreciate as it matches those super fancy wheels.

Standard driver assistance and safety

Regardless of how you choose to equip and load up your Passport, you can rest assured in knowing just how many extras come automatically as standard perks. You’ll have proximity entry and push-button start. You might appreciate the rear privacy glass, as well. Honda Sensing is also standard and offers a suite of additional driver assistance tech. Collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation systems, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise are all pillars of the Honda Sensing system.

Interior creature comforts come standard

On the inside, the Passport standard features are convenient and offer comfort and connectivity. Tri-zone auto climate control will ensure all five of your passengers are comfortable. Two USB ports will keep phones charged, and the 7-speaker audio system will be music to your ears. The base model comes with an easy to use 5-inch display, with bumps up to 8-inch screens at each additional trim level. You’ll also have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a standard connectivity and pairing feature, as well.
