What Features Come Standard on the Jeep Gladiator?
The Jeep Gladiator is one of the most exciting additions to the midsize truck world this year. New with the 2020 model, the Gladiator is Jeep’s first pickup truck since the early 1990s and it’s got everyone talking about it. Built with the body of a Wrangler and the versatility of a midsize truck, the Gladiator is a great option for anyone looking for something that can handle a rough adventure through the woods or desert while still handling well on roads.
With so many options available when purchasing a new truck these days, it’s important to know what features are standard and what features are add-ons. Let’s take a look at what features come standard on the Jeep Gladiator.
Exterior
One thing that makes Jeeps so special is being able to tailor the vehicle to what you need it for. Like other models, the Gladiator allows you to remove the roof and the doors to give you a true rough-and-tough truck that you can take out into the wilderness. The Gladiator is available with a Zipperless Sunrider soft top, a body-color hardtop, and a Black Freedom hardtop.
The five-foot bed allows enough room for carrying occasional loads while not feeling so overwhelmingly large that it no longer feels like a Jeep. The tailgate offers three positions to make it customizable for whatever you’re carrying. There’s even a waterproof outlet in the bed for things like a slow cooker so it can be your perfect tailgating companion!
Interior
The Gladiator’s interior is built to withstand the elements without sacrificing style and comfort. Available in black or tan cloth, the seats are accented with premier stitching and stylish embossing. You don’t miss out on storage either — the Gladiator offers a lockable and removable storage bin located under the rear seating area, lit with LED lights, as well as seat-back storage bins and numerous cup holders.
The touchscreen control panel is available in a five-inch screen in the Sport and Sport S models and a seven-inch screen in the Overland and Rubicon models. The Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon trims all come equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. All models are able to utilize Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system, giving you the ability to use voice commands to control the radio and GPS.
Safety and security
Today’s newest and best trucks don’t just make headlines with their utility features — it’s the safety features consumers care the most about, especially in a truck you may use as your everyday vehicle. The 2020 Gladiator has a number of the latest safety features available, but they are not all standard. Adaptive cruise control with a forward collision warning is available for the Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon Gladiators, but is not standard. Blind Spot Monitoring is also available for the Rubicon model, alerting you when someone is traveling in your blind spot.
All models come equipped with a rearview camera and sensors that alert you if there is something in your path as you reverse. Also included as standard safety features are Jeep’s electronic roll mitigation system, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and traction control. Security features include push-button start in all models except the Sport S, remote keyless entry in all models except the Sport, and Jeep’s theft deterrent security system in all models.
Jeep is known for their style, versatility, and ruggedness, and the 2020 Gladiator is no different. Wrangler fans are loving the similarities the two vehicles have in everything from their style to the feel while driving. The Gladiator offers plenty of features that make this a top-of-the-line midsize truck, with plenty more features available to add on.
