How does the 2023 Hyundai Tucson rank in terms of value?

Edmunds had the 2023 Hyundai Tucson receiving highest value score of any compact SUV with a score of 8.5. Edmunds said, “The Hyundai Tucson delivers a lot of value for the money, providing a comfortable ride and helpful technology features.”

The site bases this score on a 10-point scale that condenses scores through analysis of the car into a single figure. Value is only one of eight rating categories. The value of the car is determined by comparing the price and features with its competitors in its class.

So why exactly is the Tucson such a great value?

The 2023 Hyundai Tucson offers a lot for a little

Pricing for the Tucson is reasonable for its class and often comparable to that of a Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4. However, Hyundai outperforms the competition by providing you with a ton of appealing amenities and superb interior quality.

The interior of this compact crossover is a cut above others in terms of comfort and quality materials for the price. Also, Hyundai’s five-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain guarantee is one of the best in its class.

For comparison, the 2023 Tucson has a starting MSRP of $28,235. The Honda CR-V has a starting MSRP of $31,610 and the Toyota RAV4 has an MSRP starting at $29,310. The Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4 only offer a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile drivetrain warranty.

Additionally, between the three models, the Tucson had the overall highest consumer rating on Edmunds. It scored 4.6 out of 5. The Toyota RAV4 scored 3.6 out of 5 and the Honda CR-V scored 4.3 out of 5.

Is a car’s value score enough to consider owning one?

Car value is important for a number of reasons. After all, who has money to just throw away these days? Consumers want to get the most value for their money, and a vehicle purchase is a lot of dollars. So is a value score enough reason to buy one model over another?

It’s also important to consider what the vehicle will be used for. Do you plan on doing a lot of towing? Perhaps a model with a towing package would get you more value for your money. For those with big families, perhaps space is the most important consideration. Value is not only a consideration of which model is the cheapest, but it’s also important which features have value to you personally.
