The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is brand new for 2023, and with that new body comes a brand new powertrain. Gone are the days of V8 power in Toyota’s full-size SUV, this Sequoia comes standard with a hybrid V6 engine which produces around 437 horsepower.

But don’t let the hybrid engine fool you, this Sequoia has all the brute force and power that the previous generation had, and then some. With so much to offer, it can be confusing trying to figure out which 2023 Sequoia trim offers the best value for the money.

2023 Toyota Sequoia trim levels

The Toyota Sequoia is available in five distinct trim levels for 2023. The SR5 model is the base model and starts at roughly $58,365. This SR5 model comes standard with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive and includes a Panoramic View Monitor for easier maneuverability in tight driving and parking situations.

It also incudes wireless Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto, an 8-inch Toyota Multimedia system, and Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.5 which comes standard with a pre-collision system, radar-based cruise control, lane departure alert, and road sign assist.

The next trim level up from the base SR5 model is the Limited trim, which starts at around $64,765. The Limited trim adds a larger touchscreen, heated and cooled seats, and a power-folding third row, among other features.

The Platinum is seated above the Limited trim and is priced at $70,965. This Platinum trim adds heated and cooled rear seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof, among other premium features.

Above the Platinum trim, you’ll find the TRD Pro model at $76,065, which is made for offroading, complete with TRD Pro offroad suspension and TRD Pro matte-black aluminum wheels.

Finally, above all of the other trim levels is the Capstone trim, acting as the top-of-the-line model for the 2023 Toyota Sequoia at $75,365. The Capstone model comes standard with LED interior ambient lighting, chrome accents throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The luxurious touches even include a splash of American walnut wood in the dashboard, solidifying this trim of the Sequoia as the ultimate luxury form of this three-row SUV.

Which Toyota Sequoia trim is the best?

According to Edmunds, the best Toyota Sequoia trim level for the money is by far the Limited. While it may be placed just one notch above the base model SR5, the Limited trim adds a 14-inch display alongside heated and ventilated seats with a memory function.

A power-folding third row makes carrying cargo a breeze, and the Limited trim even offers second and third-row sunshades. While they may be manually operated, it is very nice having sunshades for rear passengers on long trips.

Even better, the Limited model is simply an extremely cheap upgrade at just over $6,000 more than the base model, on a vehicle that is already right around $60,000 to begin with. The Limited trim simply offers the best bang for your buck.

A trim for every kind of driver

What makes the 2023 Toyota Sequoia so unique is its ability to conform to any driver’s need. If you need a tough hauler with SUV seating, the SR5 is perfect for you.

For the luxury-minded consumer, the Capstone model offers one of the most luxurious interiors that would typically only be found with a luxury brand. For those off-roaders, the TRD Pro is one of the most capable offroading Toyota vehicles you can buy new.

Regardless of which Toyota Sequoia you choose, you are bound to find yourself behind the wheel of one of the best three-row fullsize SUVs on the market today.
