Jeep produces some of the most popular vehicles, from the rugged Wrangler to the Grand Cherokee midsize SUV. For the past few years, the automaker has offered a program to make owning a Jeep even better. What is the Jeep Wave Program, and how do owners access it? Let’s take a look.

Exactly what is the Jeep Wave Program?

The Jeep Wave Program is a loyalty service that Jeep owners can subscribe to for various benefits related to their vehicles. First, you get two free oil changes and tire rotations during the first two years you own the vehicle. However, the term length varies by model.

In addition, Jeep offers a rental car at no charge while servicing the vehicle. It also gives you a support system to call 24 hours a day to ask questions or schedule a service visit, according to Jeep

Another benefit of the program is that it gives you VIP treatment, which allows you access to exclusive events and get preferential treatment at brand events nationwide. Last, the Jeep Wave Program provides a six-month subscription to “onX Offroad Elite,” which lets you access information regarding any of the 615,000 trails loaded into the app.

What else should you know about the Jeep Wave Program?

There are specific rules and regulations to qualify for the Jeep Wave Program. First, it’s not offered with all Jeep models, only specific ones. 2021 and newer models automatically come with the program. The latest models that include the program are as follows:

  • 2023 Renegade
  • 2023 Compass
  • 2023 Cherokee
  • 2023 Gladiator
  • 2023 and 2024 Wrangler
  • 2023 and 2024 Wrangler 4xe
  • 2023 and 2024 Grand Cherokee
  • 2023 and 2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe

Some used vehicles (2016 to 2020) are eligible, so check with the dealer to determine if the pre-owned Jeep you want has the option for the program. Some examples are the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Gladiator.

To qualify for the program, you must be at least 18 years old, and the model needs to be a Jeep-brand residential vehicle, not a company car, fleet vehicle, or courtesy transportation unit. The program is accessible only to the vehicle’s first owner and is not transferable to anyone else.

If you buy into the program, you can cancel anytime, but you will receive a refund only within 60 days after purchase, provided you meet all the requirements the brand has put forth. Also, if you sell the vehicle while the program terms are activated on your vehicle, it will immediately be discontinued at the time of the owner transfer.

Another type of Jeep wave made famous by the brand

This “Jeep wave” has nothing to do with the loyalty program. However, the service the automaker offers is a nod to the gesture that Jeep owners have been doing for quite some time.

Owners of Jeep vehicles have a special rapport with one another. When one Jeep driver sees another, they tend to wave to them. It’s a way to say hello to fellow Jeep drivers and to offer recognition for their vehicles.

Though the Jeep wave happens with many Jeep models, it was often used with CJ models and those caked in mud. Why? It’s a sign of respect to drivers who’ve been off-roading in their iconic American Jeeps

Whether you’re offering a Jeep wave to another driver or participating in the Jeep Wave Program, you’re honoring the brand while earning some rewards for your used or new vehicle purchase.
