Safety

The Genesis G70 has an exceptionally low center of gravity, which creates a wide, dramatic stance. All of their most advanced safety features, like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, come standard. It can detect slower or stopped vehicles ahead, as well as pedestrians and bicycles.

The G70 Smart Cruise Control’s front-mounted radar sensor automatically maintains your distance and speed from the vehicle in front of you in traffic. Even after a full stop, speed and distance control is re-engaged when the car ahead starts moving again. Protecting you from unintended lane changes, the G70 has Lane Keeping Assist which applies corrective steering assistance when necessary.

Design

The base G70 2.0T features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that hits 252 horsepower (255 on the manual). It has an eight-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels, and optional all-wheel-drive. The higher-end model has a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V-6 model, it kicks up to 365 Horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. 

The interior has a fantastic driver-centric layout and straightforward controls that cater to driving enthusiasts. Car and Driver said, “the result is an interior that seems more luxurious than the Alfa Romeo Giulia or Jaguar XE.” The back seat is a bit tight, but younger kids will love it. 

Technology

The technology in the G70 includes many features, like an available heads-up display, a surround-view monitor, and touchscreen navigation. You’ll also find Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, but the cartoony interface is clearly pulled from lesser Hyundai models. 

If there is anything lacking, it could be the technology and the rear seat area. However, that said, the G70 more than makes up for those with the amount of luxury offered at a fraction of the cost. The Genesis G70 is absolutely a great luxury sedan for the family.
