Buyers of the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross have a choice of three different trims: L, LE, and XLE. Each trim can be equipped with either a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive system. Pricing for the Corolla Cross starts at $22,445 for the base-level L FWD up to $27,875 for the top-of-the-time XLE AWD model. The 2022 Corolla Cross comes equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which has a dual variable valve timing valvetrain. The output of the engine is 169 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Power from the engine is channeled through a continuously variable transmission. The Corolla Cross gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 31 city/33 highway mpg.
For off-road excursions or driving in adverse weather conditions, the Corolla Cross offers an available all-wheel drive system, which has a dynamic torque control feature. When extra traction is needed, dynamic torque control moves up to 50% of the torque to the rear wheels. In normal on-road driving situations, the Corolla Cross remains in front-wheel drive mode to maximize efficiency.
