What’s Coming for the 2024 Kia EV9?
It’s no secret that the Kia EV6 has been a big success as an electric EV. But, the EV6 is not the only EV that Kia plans to offer. For those who need a three-row SUV, the 2024 Kia EV9 is coming. And it might prove that a family vehicle can be electric. Allegedly, some of the specs of this new Kia have been leaked. It does look like it’s going to be quite a solid offering.
Will there be a Kia EV9?
At some point in 2023, Kia will be releasing the EV9. This SUV comes after the EV6, and it’s going to be bigger and offer more utility. It might be best to view it as an electric version of the Kia Telluride. Although, the 2024 Kia EV9 will be on a different platform.
According to Car and Driver, some of the potential specs of the 2024 Kia EV9 have been leaked. These specs might not be what the final product looks like. After all, they are from a survey sent to current Telluride owners. And Kia has not confirmed them.
The Kia EV9 will be practical but expensive
In terms of cost, the EV9 will likely range from $56,000 to $73,000 for the top trim. The survey shows that it could come standard with rear-wheel drive, but AWD will be an option. That’s likely good news for folks who live in places that get snow and other inclement weather.
The range is supposed to be somewhere between 220 miles and 290 miles. But that could change by the time the EV9 is actually put into production. In terms of horsepower, you might be able to get up to 400 hp, which is decent enough for a vehicle of this size.
When will the 2024 Kia EV9 go on sale?
It’s not exactly clear when the EV9 will be released. But it should come out at some point this year. Kia has already shown off what this vehicle will look like. With supply chain issues and chip shortages, though, it’s hard to predict when a new car will actually hit dealerships.
Hopefully, the EV9 will arrive in a timely manner. There are not a lot of family-friendly electric vehicles on the market. Sure, you can get an electric SUV. But what if you need three rows of seating? Well, you don’t have that many options. But with models like the 2024 Kia EV9, you can get a family SUV that has an electric powertrain.
Kia is taking electrification seriously
According to Electrek, Kia plans to have 14 electric vehicles by 2027. Clearly, the brand is heavily invested in making successful EVs. The EV6 is the first of these models, and the Kia EV9 will follow it.
If the leaked potential specs are any indication, it’s hard not to see the 2024 Kia EV9 as being successful. Especially with its unique-looking design and usable range. But until Kia confirms things, we won’t know the exact details of this SUV.
