What’s Different With the Refreshed 2023 Kia Telluride?
The Kia Telluride is an excellent option if you’re in the market for a new midsize SUV. As one of the most well-reviewed models in its class, it’s taking the midsize segment by storm. For the 2023 model year, the popular family hauler is getting a refresh. This means it will undergo changes in many ways, but are they significant enough to make it worth buying? What’s different with the refreshed 2023 Kia Telluride?
What are the 2023 Kia Telluride trims and prices?
First and most importantly, like most vehicles, the three-row Telluride has new pricing for 2023. According to Cars.com, the LX base model now starts at $37,025, with each model getting progressively more expensive over the 2022 model year versions. In addition, all four trim levels use front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive is available for $2,000.
Furthermore, a few optional packages enhance the equipment included with upper trim levels. For example, the Prestige Package is available for the SX trim with AWD. It costs $2,900 but adds premium upholstery and more comfort features.
Next, the X-Line package is an option for the AWD versions of the EX and SX trims. It adds roof rails, 20-inch wheels, and a towing drive mode. Lastly, a more hardcore off-road X-Pro package costs $2,395 and adds smaller 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. Either X package will increase the Telluride’s towing capacity to 5,500 pounds.
2023 Kia Telluride trim | Price |
LX | $37,025 |
S | $38,925 |
EX | $42,625 |

What’s new with the refreshed Telluride?
For the 2023 model year, the Kia Telluride is changing in a lot of ways. First, it gains new front and rear styling, giving the exterior of the SUV a unique look. Next, a few tech upgrades and driver assist features make the three-row midsize SUV safer than ever before. Although the model was already highly-touted for being a luxurious bargain with many amenities, it managed to grow its library for 2023. Unfortunately, the price also rose, but the damage isn’t too bad.
Technology upgrades include a 12.3-inch standard touchscreen display, which comes with navigation. Moreover, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel is now an available option. Furthermore, safety upgrades include Kia’s most advanced Highway Driving Assist 2 with an optional lane change assist. This also features an enhanced forward collision avoidance system, improving functionality for turning or changing lanes.
Finally, the previously mentioned off-road packages are new to the lineup. X-Line and X-Pro are suitable for light off-roading, as we don’t expect you’ll be competing against a Jeep Wrangler with your Kia Telluride. However, the X packages are nothing to scoff at. They add a more aggressive exterior appearance in addition to the off-road features.
Is it worth waiting for a 2023 Kia Telluride?
Whether or not to wait for the 2023 model year is entirely a personal choice. For some, getting upgraded safety features, including more advanced technology, will be well worth the wait. For others, the intriguing off-road packages will make or break the three-row midsize SUV. However, if none of that interests you, we don’t think it’s worth waiting for the 2023 Kia Telluride. Buying the 2022 model year gets you most of the same value at a slightly lower starting price.
