What’s in Kevin Durant’s $4 million car collection?
Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is a car guy. As he and the rest of the Phoenix Suns sadly head to the offseason after a blowout loss to the Denver Nuggets, we think he will find some solace in his car collection. The former league MVP and Suns star has some impressive vehicles in his collection and a couple that are far more regular than you’d expect for an NBA legend.
What cars are in Durant’s $4 million collection?
Kevin Durant has at least eight cars. While that number doesn’t seem super impressive, the cars in his collection are. While some superstars seem to buy cars on a whim, or for what’s trendy, it’s clear that Durant knows what he’s doing with several of the cars he has.
1966 Ford GT 40
Durant owns one of the holy grails of the car collecting world, and a dream car for any enthusiast’s garage. According to Supercar Blondie he has an original 1966 Ford GT 40, the car that Ford built to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of LeMans. The cars were featured in the film “Ford Vs. Ferrari.” Many don’t realize that Ford actually made a few for the public, and Durant likely paid more than $2 million for it.
But, they’re small cars. The 40 in the name is there because the cars are just 40 inches tall. Durant, however, is 82 inches tall, or 6 foot 10.
2017 Cadillac Escalade
A Cadillac Escalade with its big cabin and lots of leg room sounds about right for a basketball player. The Escalade has more room inside than many New York City apartments. But, in a $100,000 Escalade you can also order GM’s mighty 6.2-liter engine that puts out 420 horsepower.
2013 Ferrari California
Pictures from Durant’s early days in the NBA show him with a red Ferrari California. We’re not sure of what year it is, but it’s a pre-facelift car that was built between 2009 and 2013. Californias are front-engined V8-powered Ferraris with 453 horsepower. A California is a bit larger inside than mid-engined Ferraris, which Durant probably appreciates.
Rolls-Royce Phantom
The Rolls-Royce Phantom is so good that the British Royal Family has a fleet of them. For decades the Phantom has reigned supreme as the top Rolls-Royce sedan, and each one is custom built. The cars have giant V12 engines, and everything inside that isn’t covered in leather is fine wood.
Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster
Durant has something for high-performance cars. The Aventador S is a great choice for making a statement, but also for blowing the doors off nearly anything else on the road. With its 740-horsepower V12, this thing is quick, and can reach 217 miles per hour. Durant’s is the Roadster, too, which means he can drop the top for infinite headroom.
1968 Lincoln Continental
Some say it’s sad that Lincoln has abandoned making sedans. In the 1960s, Lincoln’s cars were among the best in the world. The late 1960s cars had giant V8 engines, and amazing options like power windows, powered seats, and air conditioning. Durant’s is similar to the car pictured.
2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS
In 2015 Durant made a famous purchase of a Camaro SS, which he had customized in all red. You can see a quick image of the custom Camaro in the video above at 0:34. The SS version of the camaro has a 6.2 liter V8 with 426 horsepower, up from the standard car’s 400.
2019 Jeep Wrangler
We’d love to meet Kevin Durant on the trail in a Jeep! He has a 2019 four-door Wrangler. The Jeep, like the Escalade, has plenty of room, and they’re super capable off-road. Durant’s, though, is far from stock. He added larger wheels and tires, a push bar, and a lot more to his JK Wrangler.
