The GMC lineup is filled with options if you’re searching for a new luxurious SUV. Of the three, a few things are different for the next model year. The 2023 GMC SUV lineup isn’t undergoing any massive overhaul or a complete redesign, but no vehicle is the same from one year to the next. What’s new with the 2023 GMC SUV lineup? Featuring the 2023 GMC Terrain, Acadia, and Yukon.

What will be different with the 2023 GMC Terrain?

According to Kelley Blue Book, a few things about the GMC Terrain for the 2023 model year are new. For example, the base model and engine now produce five more horsepower than the previous iteration. Next, GMC upgraded the brakes. Although that sounds like a vague statement, the brand has added electronic brake force assistance, called Eboost. As a result, braking will be smoother and faster, even on less-than-ideal surfaces.

Next, the automaker added a few new colors to the lineup of Terrain compact SUVs for 2023. They are Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Sterling Metallic, and Deep Bronze Metallic. Finally, the range-topping Denali trim level received a brand new optional package. It’s called Black Diamond and adds virtually every option in the Terrain lineup to the already well-equipped Denali trim level.

Next, the midsize three-row SUV in the GMC SUV lineup received fewer changes than the Terrain for 2023. First, there’s a new steering wheel included with the SLT trim. It has switchgear for the audio and cruise control systems for the first time. The only other change, like the Terrain, is a few new paint colors entering the lineup for the 2023 model year. Customers will now be able to purchase the 2023 GMC Acadia in Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Ultra Blue Metallic, and Sterling Metallic.

Lastly, the 2023 GMC Yukon remains one of the most popular full-size SUVs. As a result, many are excited about the few significant changes coming to it for the new model year. Car and Driver say it has a new range-topping trim level for the first time. Titled Denali Ultimate, it’s an even fancier version of the already luxurious Denali trim. Unfortunately, it’s very costly, starting at $96,845, roughly $20K more than the standard Denali.

However, the Denali Ultimate trim adds many new features. For example, Alpine Umber leather upholstery, 16-way power front seats with massage, open-pore wood trim, an 18-speaker Bose audio system, and much more. Lastly, Super Cruise is now available for the 2023 Yukon. GM’s Super Cruise is available for select Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC models. The hands-free, autonomous driving system is only standard for the new trim level but optional on the Denali.

What’s new with 2023 GMC SUVs?

In conclusion, the 2023 GMC SUV lineup is undergoing a few changes for the new model year. While none are as significant as a redesign or complete vehicle overhaul, there are some exciting new features. For example, the improved horsepower and braking on the Terrain, better steering wheel for the Acadia, and of course, the Yukon Denali Ultimate trim level nearing $100,000.
