What’s New With the 2022 Jeep Gladiator?
The 2022 Jeep Gladiator pickup truck isn’t getting many changes for the new model year. For the most part, the 2021 model will be nearly identical to the latest version. Though, since it had such a boom in popularity for 2021, Jeep took the opportunity to increase its price. The Gladiator costs more than it ever did before, but what do owners get in return? Surely there must be some new features to make the higher price point worth paying.
The 2022 Jeep Gladiator is more expensive, without much improvement
The 2022 Jeep Gladiator made the jump of over $2,000 for even the base model. There are so many trim levels to choose from with this small pickup truck that you’ll easily find the Gladiator to fit your needs. Jeep claims the price increase is supported by the increased standard equipment with which the Gladiator will come.
CarsDirect noted that the Overland, Mojave, and Rubicon trims will have a standard 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C navigation system for the 2022 model year. The Premium Audio Group package, which includes this navigation system, is similarly priced to the increase. Though even the models not gaining this new feature still get the price increase.
Most things remain the same with the Jeep pickup truck
For the 2022 model year, there aren’t any significant changes to the Jeep Gladiator. After all, since it’s so popular, why change what customers already love? The Gladiator still comes with two engine options, the 3.6-liter V6 or the diesel-powered turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. It also still has four primary trim levels with plenty of sub-trims in between.
Sport, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave are the trim levels, but more slot in to compliment them. Willy’s Sport, Sport S, Willy’s, Texas Trail, and High Altitude are all still available. These trims are considered “special editions” to the four primary trim levels. Most of the sub-trims are different versions of the base Sport trim and barely exceed $40,000.
When will the 2022 Jeep Gladiator be available?
The off-road pickup truck should arrive sometime during Fall 2021. That means it could be coming up more quickly than we realize. Though the official release date hasn’t been announced, and with all the manufacturing issues going on in the world, who knows? Like many other vehicles, the Gladiator could end up being pushed back into the 2022 calendar year.
It’s been challenging to get your hands on a Jeep Gladiator for a while, but hopefully, that will stop soon. We’d recommend sticking with the soon-to-be cheaper 2021 model since not much is changing. If you’re interested in the new model year, the Gladiator is not available for reservations yet. We’d expect it to become available soon, so keep an eye on the Jeep website for more information.
There isn’t a whole lot happening with the 2022 Jeep Gladiator. Jeep is taking the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach to the new iteration of its pickup truck. We’d expect some additional standard equipment to be announced alongside the Gladiator to justify the price increase. After all, the base model is currently announced at $2,000 more with no significant changes.
