What’s New with the 2024 Lexus NX?
Lexus is rolling out its lineup of SUVs for next year, and the NX is back and better than ever. Find out what is new with the 2024 Lexus NX and what sort of hybrid powertrains and specs the luxury sport utility vehicle received.
Will the 2024 Lexus NX receive an update?
Lexus announced this week that the 2024 Lexus NX is getting some minor upgrades for the new year. While some of the lineup is going all-electric, the NX sticks to what it knows best. As a mostly carryover model from 2023, Lexus still offers four powertrain choices and some new interior color options.
The 2024 Lexus NX 350 received the 2.4L turbo mated with an eight-speed transmission with 275 horsepower and 317 lb. ft. of torque. According to EPA estimates, that gives the NX a zero to 60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and 24 mpg combined.
For the NX 250, a naturally aspirated, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and eight-speed transmission offer a smooth ride. This version is available with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, both of which get 28 mpg combined. Lexus’ NX 250 gets 203 horsepower and 184 lb. ft. of torque for the front-wheel-drive option. That has a zero to 60 mph time of 8.2 seconds. With all-wheel drive, that zero to 60 mph time jumps to 8.6 seconds.

Lexus also offers the 2024 NX 350h, which gets even more power and better fuel economy. The NX 350h utilizes the Lexus Hybrid Drive system, which “pairs the D4-S fuel injection 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine with two high-torque electric drive motor-generators for strong acceleration and passing performance.” A second independent electric motor drives the rear wheels in this all-wheel drive system. This gets 240 horsepower and a zero to 60 mph of 7.2 seconds with an EPA-estimated 39 mpg.
The MSRP for all of the 2024 Lexus NX trim levels is below, including the top-of-the-line NX 450h+ F SPORT.

NX 450h+ F SPORT | $59,905 |
2024 Lexus NX 450h+ uses a new high-capacity lithium-ion battery to get an EPA-estimated 37 miles of electric range. This new system is equivalent to a 2.0-liter engine and gets an EPA-estimated 84 MPGe combined. It also delivers a 6.0 second zero to sixty time. Drivers can charge up to 240V and be fully charged in just two and a half hours with the 6.6 kW Expedited Onboard Charger. Using the standard 3.3 kW charger, the 450h+ charges in four and a half hours.
The 2023 Lexus NX 350h made the list of hybrids that start paying off immediately, but the increased cost for the 2024 version might take a little while to make that list. Either way, 84 MPGe is great fuel economy.
Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes standard
All new vehicles get Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, the most updated version of the brand’s driver-assistance aids. Some of the systems included are Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, which helps detects vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists to apply emergency braking. It also gets Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist and Left Turn Oncoming Vehicle Detection/Braking.
All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control helps keep the Lexus NX traveling at a safe speed on the highway. A new Curve Speed Management system also helps take corners and curves while using Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
Minor updates to the 2024 Lexus NX bring it into the new year well-prepared to bring in new drivers. Lexus still has many popular luxury SUVs on the market, like the recently announced all-electric 2023 Lexus RZ 450e.
