While Toyota isn’t the first name most people think of when they think about trucks, those who’ve bought a Toyota truck quickly become loyal to the brand. Most refuse to even consider driving sany pickup that lacks the Toyota logo. Currently, the automaker has a few versions of the Tacoma. And the most expensive of all is Toyota’s Tacoma TRD Pro.

How much does the Tacoma TRD Pro cost?

With an average price of $42,960, the TRD Pro is the most expensive vehicle in the Toyota Tacoma lineup. While that’s a lot of money, utilizing incentive programs, dealer specials, and year-end sales is a great way to save thousands.

If that’s still more than you’re willing to pay, you can enjoy a nice Toyota Tacoma; you just have to look for the base model, which has an average retail price of $26,880.

What makes the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro special?

When it came to the Tacoma TRD Pro, Toyota didn’t cut any cornerss. They went all out to ensure that this vehicle was comfortable and fun to drive while providing all of the functional perks that go with owning a truck.

Toyota knows that many drivers don’t want to stick to paved roads. After all, one of the perks of truck ownership is the ability to drive it pretty much anywhere. Toyota made sure the bed was long enough and wide enough for gear, equipment, and more.

They added high-quality Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires. Fox Internal Bypass shocks and the Multi-Terrain Monitor provide you with a comfortable ride even on rough terrain. The one-inch suspension provides a decent amount of clearance when dealing with snow, sand, and debris.

Toyota’s Panoramic View Monitor comes standard on the TRD Pro. This feature not only means you’re never surprised while driving through remote areas, but it’s also easier to navigate tight parking lots.

One of the first things people notice about the Tacoma TRD Pro is the strange looking apparatus that looks like a snorkel. While this device doesn’t allow you to drive a Tacoma underwater, it does work to keep the engine in good repair.

The apparatus is called a Desert Air Intake. Its purpose is to draw air into the engine. Since the intake is situated above the truck’s cab, the air it pulls in is free of dust and debris that can lead to engine problems.

Less obvious, but just as important is the 1/4-inch thick aluminum skid plate mounted on the truck’s underside. The skid plate is designed to protect the truck from sharp rocks, logs, and even curbs. It can help drivers explore trails that other trucks simply can’t navigate.

Inside the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

The interior of the Tacoma TRD Pro is equipped with an adjustable driver’s seat that features 10-way adjustment. Apple Play, Amazon’s Alexa, and Android Auto mean you’ll never be bored. The truck also comes with an eight-inch touchscreen arranged so that the driver can easily use it.

No matter what adventures you dream up, the Tacoma TRD Pro is ready to help you enjoy them.
