Consumer Reports gave the 2021 model an almost perfect score in its road test. The 2021 Volkswagen Arteon’s remarkable durability and safety features also earned good ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The 2021 Volkswagen Arteon’s SE trim is a good money-saver. The base MSRP is about $37,000, according to Volkswagen. Expect plenty of high-end features, including heated front seats, auto-dimming rearview mirrors, and automated climate control. 

The Arteon SE also offers plenty of innovative yet easy-to-use tech, including Volkswagen’s Discover Media system. According to VW, “The unit features enhanced voice recognition, Bluetooth technology for compatible devices, HD radio, SiriusXM radio (three-month trial period), and two USB-C ports (one in the center console, one in the center stack.”

A navigation system and rearview camera are two more of the many features you can expect in the SE package. 

SEL R-Line trim

The 2021 Arteon’s SEL R-Line trim offers LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and power-folding side mirrors. VW’s distinctive cornering lights are another benefit of this sporty package.

The SEL R-Line trim levels up the Areteon on the inside and out. Expect a panoramic sunroof and multi-color ambient lighting, Car and Driver reports. Wireless charging and remote start are two other perks. Plus, leather seating lends a luxe touch to this sporty model. And that’s not all. 

Other features unique to this trim include contrast stitching on the steering wheel and a glossy black spoiler.

SEL Premium R-Line trim

The Arteon SEL Premium R-Line epitomizes luxury. It comes with 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and a Harman Kardon sound system. Other extravagances include surround-view cameras, parking assist, and heated rear seats. But arguably the best perk of this top-of-the-line trim is the massage feature on the driver’s seat.

There’s also a ton of advanced safety features, including rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist.

You get all of that for about $48,000.

Car and Driver suggests the SEL R-Line because it “strikes the best balance of style and standard features.” Luckily, Volkswagen’s new Arteon offers plenty of bells and whistles on all trim levels, making them all solid choices. The array of options allows you to select the package that best fits your budget, needs, and taste.
