While observing the Honda Ridgeline lineup, it’ll be challenging to figure out which trim level is best for you. Honda’s midsize truck is surprisingly well-equipped, starting with the $39,435 Sport base model. According to Edmunds, the base model comes with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, keyless entry/ignition, truck bed lights, seven speakers, a Class III trailer hitch with a seven-pin connector, and the Honda Sensing safety suite.

As a result, every trim level following it has all that and more. However, experts like those at Edmunds recommend buying the RTL-E trim. It sits two spots above the base model and costs $45,365. Fortunately, with its vast array of added features, it offers far more value than any other alternative. Buying the 2022 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E gets you the most bang for your buck.

Viewing the list of trim levels in the Honda midsize truck lineup reveals plenty of features. On top of the many base model features, the RTL gains more. Things like a noise-reducing windshield, heated mirrors, a sunroof, a power-sliding rear window, leather upholstery, blind-spot monitoring, and more are all standard for this trim level. Following the RTL is the upgraded and best version to buy, the Ridgeline RTL-E.

Tech upgrades for this model include LED truck bed lights, an outlet in the bed, truck-bed audio, a heated steering wheel, and a navigation system. Even more convenience upgrades like second-row USB ports, wireless smartphone charging, and front and rear parking sensors enhance the Ridgeline even more. Together all these features combine to make the most value-filled version of the 2022 Honda Ridgeline midsize truck.

RLT-E: Fully loaded without being too costly

Including the Black Edition of the Ridgeline, the RTL-E is not the most expensive model. However, this model only adds cosmetic features that don’t enhance the truck itself very much. Other than looks, there is no reason to buy the most expensive trim. It has a blacked-out exterior trim, black leather interior with red accents, black wheels, and red ambient interior lighting. Other than that, owners can find everything it has in the slightly cheaper RTL-E model.

Similarly, the RTL-E trim is a significant upgrade over the two lowest trims without getting too costly. Despite its upgrades, it’s only roughly $5,000 more than the base model. Many vehicles, including midsize trucks, have a fully loaded trim level more than five figures above the price of a base model. While the Ridgeline may start a bit higher, fortunately, it benefits from a similarly-priced top trim. As a result, the value-filled 2022 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E trim provides the most value.
