Most Jeep Wranglers are available as two-door models or four-door Unlimited models. The Sahara, Sahara Altitude, and Sport Altitude models are only available as four-door versions. The two-door Wranglers seat four passengers while the four-door versions seat five.
One factor for some is the price. The four-door models cost more, but they can seat five and the offer more than double the cargo space than the two-door versions.
There are 32 cubic feet of space for cargo that more than doubles to 72 cubic feet when the back seats aren’t used. If you frequently haul cargo on your travels, a four-door model might be a better choice. If it’s just you and sometimes one other person and you want to save money, the two-door model might meet your needs.
The best daily-use Jeep Wrangler
For most Jeep fans who want a Wrangler to drive for daily use or a family vehicle, the Sport S trim is a good choice. It has the same features as the base model including the same available engines and transmissions. It’s available as both two-door and four-door, and it has all the convenience features the base model doesn’t like air conditioning, power windows and door locks, heated side mirrors, tinted back windows, and remote keyless entry. It also has 17-inch alloy wheels.
There are more options available for the Jeep Wrangler Sport S like remote start and an Alpine stereo system with nine speakers. There are packages available too like the Cold Weather Package that gives you heated front seats and steering wheel.
You can also add the Technology Package and get a 7-inch touchscreen to use for the infotainment system that comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and satellite radio. You also get dual-zone climate control.
There’s a Jeep Active Safety package that adds both rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring. You can also get the Jeep Advanced Safety package to get adaptive cruise control and forward-collision alerts.
The best off-roading Jeep Wrangler
If you’re into off-roading, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is a good choice according to U.S. News. It’s the only Jeep Wrangler model you can get with a steel front and rear bumper. Also available are the four-cylinder and non-eTorque V6 engines.
It has all the features of the Sahara models and adds what you need for your rough terrain adventures. The Rubicon adds an upgraded performance suspension and brakes. You also get off-roading tires and a locking rear differential. The Rubicon comes standard with the 4:1 Rock-Trac HD Part-Time 4WD system.
The Rubicon can be upgraded to 17-inch black wheels instead of the 17-inch polished wheels. Body-colored fender flares are available as an option as side steps that are only standard on Sahara models.
The best-looking Wranglers
If you want a Jeep that looks cool and has great features, the Black and Tan models along with the Willys models are worth a look.
The Black and Tan models offer everything from the Sport S as far as engines, core features, and available options. This model offers a soft tan roof, matching tan cloth seats, side steps, and all-terrain tires. You also get everything in the Technology Package.
The Willys edition also offers everything from the Sport S models but it features a black paint theme and Willys decals. You also get bigger brakes, mud-terrain tires, rock sliders, and a rear limited-slip differential.
