As more modern trucks are released, their towing capacities and overall performance ratings are increased considerably. Once most commonly used as a work or off-roading vehicle, pickups are now equipped with as many technological upgrades as smaller luxury cars. This is the case for the 1500 Ram Limited, which retails for $65,000.

While not as powerful as many heavy-duty trucks, the Limited still has ample power. It has a V8 Hemi engine capable of 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the strongest small pickups on the market. It can also tow up to 13,000 pounds. These specs are impressive, but there are more reasons why the Limited has such a higher price tag compared to the regular Ram 1500. Unique design

Inside the Limited, there are many special design elements that truly make it feel like a luxury vehicle. It’s built with high-quality materials that are soft to the touch. The seats are made from comfortable leather with hand-stitching. They also come with standard heating and cooling functions and highly-adjustable lumbar support.

There’s also unique hand-stitched designs around the cabin, the sides of the doors, and the front seatbacks. Real wood-grain accents decorate the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Like the similar Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve, this car also has rubber floor mats with a carpeted center for a more sophisticated look. The center console is massive and there’s plenty of interior storage space inside the cab.

A special suspension system

The Limited has one of the best suspension systems you can find in a pickup truck. Drivers can choose between 5 different ride-height options. The first ‘Lowered’ setting allows the driver to automatically lower the suspension for ease of entering and exiting the truck. The second setting is for improved aerodynamics, which makes the Limited use less fuel while going at higher speeds. 

The middle setting is called ‘Suitable for Most Situations’, which keeps the ride stable during daily driving and any towing jobs. The last two are Increased and Highest Ground Clearance, which makes them the most ideal modes for off-roading ventures. These settings can be adjusted with the push of a button inside the car as well as on the key ring.

Sophisticated infotainment

The infotainment screen on the Limited one of the biggest of any car on the market at 12 inches. It has the latest Uconnect system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. You can also adjust the driver’s seat, open or close the back window, and control the sunroof using the large touchscreen. While some may miss the traditional rotary dials, it definitely makes the truck feel fancier.

In the navigation system, you can see many points of interest, customizable right down to the type of restaurant you’re looking for. There’s also a good selection of driver’s safety features, but the most unique one is a blind spot detector for trailers attached to the car. 

A refined ride

The Limited is 19 feet long and over 5,000 pounds, but it handles itself with as much grace as a lighter sports car. The suspension system makes it easy to adjust the ride height for any driver to be comfortable in the spacious cabin. It’s also very quiet on the inside, a trait which is not common in other pickups of the Limited’s class. It may be hard to justify the $65k price tag for a standard work truck, but for all the latest technology and improved comfort inside the Limited, it’s definitely worth the upcharge.
