The 2022 Nissan Armada sales are way down this year

It’s been a tough year for all vehicles, but the Nissan Armada has certainly felt the brunt of these difficult times. The 2022 Nissan Armada sales are way down at the end of the first quarter compared to the first quarter of 2021. The Nissan Armada sales at the end of 2021 are just 1,643. At the end of the first quarter of 2022, the Armada had sold 7,597 SUVs.

However, the 2022 Nissan Armada sales are slightly improving as the months of the first quarter have gone by. In January the Nissan Armada sold 526 SUVs, the same as February. In March slightly more Nissan Armadas were sold, totaling 591 SUVs. Will the trend continue? We’ll have to wait to see how the second quarter of 2022 plays out.

Supply chain problems are contributing to low sales

One thing that consistently impacts all motor vehicle sales right now is the pandemic. While there are many factors at play that are making it harder to both buy and sell vehicles, ongoing supply chain problems are certainly at the top of them. Auto manufacturers are experiencing parts shortages that is making it very difficult to produce the same number of vehicles as usual. In addition to that, there are microchip shortages that have resulted in some car makers such as Ford to temporarily halt adding some coveted features.

Yet there is some hope for the automotive world. The chip shortage is finally lessening after nearly two years of problems. That means that car manufacturers are increasingly able to produce their normal number of vehicles – with all of the necessary parts.

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer is taking a slice of sales

There’s another factor that may be impacting the Nissan Armada sales is the new-to-market 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and its luxury sibling the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. These two additions to the large SUV segment and large luxury segment present an interesting problem for the Nissan Armada and other large SUVs.

The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer are updated versions of a favorite throwback. While the Wagoneer isn’t exactly stealing all of the Nissan Armada’s sales, it is certainly taking a respectable piece. The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer sold 7,056 units in the first quarter of 2022.

The 2022 Nissan Armada sales may be down, but all is not lost. As supply chain problems get better and the market steadies, the Nissan Armada just may be able to redeem itself and its sales could climb back into the numbers that the Armada is used to.
