Each year, millions of cars make their last trip, and it is to the salvage yard. So, salvage yards are great for finding replacement parts for those pesky little things that break. Need a replacement for a broken dash knob, torn seat, bent wheel, broken sun visor? A salvage yard will have just about everything one might need to fix, or even upgrade the average car. The average car, however, is not what this Dubai salvage yard deals with. A patron to this lot can find parts for exotic cars, lots of exotic cars.

Dubai’s economy

Dubai has become a grand city in the United Arab Emirates. It has seen its citizens become very wealthy as the city continues to position itself as a tourist destination. So much wealth in one area means that the area is ripe for sales of exotic cars. However, the global economy has been tumultuous in recent years. So, many people that have been purchasing exotic cars at one time have also experienced having trouble paying for them as the economy ebbs and flows. 

Why so many exotic cars end up here

Oddly enough, now, a salvage yard in Dubai has become a tourist destination on its own because of the exotic car market in the country. As the exotic cars have been wrecked, the yard has become a collection point for them. Also, as a few people have been unable to pay for their exotics. So, the cars are seized and brought the yard.

Youtuber visits the salvage yard

The video below covers when the Youtube channel, Supercar Blondie, visited the salvage yard in question. In her visit, she found some pretty amazing cars. This yard has models from Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, and so on. But, the interesting thing is that this yard also auctions vehicles. 

In the video, the host comes across a Rolls-Royce Wraith that has received some damage. However, there are still a lot of useable parts on the vehicle, including the leather seats. Those models originally sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. But, at auction, the starting bid is two dollars. Yup, two dollars for the whole car. Also, a Ferrari California T is highlighted in the video. It appears to be in excellent condition. The opening bid for the exotic car is expected to be around $30,000. 

Copart is global salvage yard network

The auction yard in Dubai is part of the Copart network. There are many Copart locations here in the United States. In fact, some Youtube content creators build their channel around purchasing Copart auction cars and repairing them. But, the sheer quantity of exotics at the Dubai location is astounding. 

Copart, in the United Arab Emirates, might end up being a place for people’s bucket list of places to visit. It certainly seems like a good place to find exotic cars that have been abandoned for non-payment, or others that have been wrecked that can provide some difficult to find parts. At the very least, the yard is a good place to have the jaw of the auto enthusiast drop from seeing the rare cars and be saddened at their state of demise.
