Well-heeled Italian car nuts are descending on Emilia-Romagna, Italy, for the Motor Valley Fest 2023. Unless you’re a car nut, or a Ferrari collector, your invite probably got lost in the mail. But this is the one place and time where Italian supercar brands bring their newest models and try to be best friends for four days. Ferrari, Pagani, Lamborghini, Maserati, race-car manufacturer Dallara and motorcycle maker Ducati all bring out their best to this four-day event in the heart of Modena.

The Motor Valley Fest 2023 started Thursday, May 11, and continues to Sunday, May 14.

What is the Motor Valley Fest 2023?

The Motor Valley Fest is organized by Motor Valley, which is an economic development initiative of the Italian Trade Agency. The region in the north east of Italy is home to several manufacturers and suppliers. Think of it as Italy’s Detroit, but with 1,000-year-old brick buildings and better food.

This year, the Motor Valley Fest will celebrate some significant anniversaries, including Lamborghini’s 60th anniversary, the 125th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari’s birth, the 70th anniversary of the birth of Dino Ferrari of Imola, and the 100th anniversary of the Circuito del Savio.

Ferrari gave the Motor Valley its name

The Motor Valley in Emilia-Romagna is in the heart of Modena. It’s not far from the famous Ferrari test track, and the Modena Formula 1 circuit. Because of that Ferrari is bringing its best and newest cars out of hiding. But, of course, during the Motor Valley Fest Ferrari opens the doors to its museum and this year a new exhibition is dedicated to Ferrari V-12 engines.

This year, Ferrari will bring out for the first time the Ferrari Roma Spider, which is a new drop-top version of the Roma coupe. But the tifosi will be on hand to admire the new Portofino M, the new Purosangue SUV, and the latest versions of the 296 GTB, 296 GTS and SF90 Stradale supercars.

Pagani will debut the new Utopia

For the first time the public will be able to check out the new Pagani Utopia supercar. The new Utopia replaces the Huayra supercar. The car features a Mercedes-AMG-built engine with 852 horsepower and a manual gearbox. But Pagani cars are not all about performance: designer Horatio Pagani makes sure that each car is an airplane-inspired work of art

Pagani will only make 99 Utopia cars, and unfortunately they’re all spoken for. The new car also gets a carbon-titanium core. Pagani patented the ultra-light Carbo-Titanium material which is said to be stronger and lighter than traditional carbon fiber.

Lamborghini brought out the new Revuelto

The new Lamborghini Revuelto will make its way to the main stage this year at the Motor Valley Fest. The new Revuelto looks stunning but is a major first for Lambo. The Revuelto is the company’s first plug-in hybrid. The Revuelto has 1001 horsepower, and while it looks like an Aventador, every single piece of the car is all-new for Lambo.

While many are lamenting the loss of big V-12 engines in Supercars, Lamborghini made a huge statement by keeping the 813-horsepower V-12 in the 2023 Revuelto and simply adding 188 horsepower via a pair of electric motors on the front wheels and one in back.

Beyond these stunning cars, visitors got to see new Ducati superbikes, a Dallara concept car for the streets, and new Maserati cars including the 2023 GranTurismo. Red Bull and Ferrari also displayed some of their Formula 1 cars.
