Why Is the 2021 Genesis G80 Worth Waiting For?

The Genesis G80’s claim to fame is offering upscale features at a more affordable price. This model has successfully been able to disrupt the luxury car market and can even compete with the likes of world-class brands such as  Mercedes-Benz. We already thought the G80 sedan was an excellent contender among other luxury cars but it just got even better for 2021.

The 2021 G80 is even more dignified

Now in its third generation, the 2021 G80 is more elegant than ever. The G80’s jazzy front grille is larger, its slanted lines are sharper, and its curves are even more defined. Because of its more dramatic exterior, it shouldn’t be hard to identify the G80 in a crowded parking lot.

On the inside, the G80’s brazen outer surface is balanced with an absolutely gorgeous cabin. Its standard faux leather upholstery is plush and inviting, and the G80’s high-quality trimmings take it to the next level. We think the G80’s updated cabin is the picture-perfect definition of classic style. But the sedan’s funky designed steering wheel makes it more charismatic. On a practical note, the 2021 G80 features additional interior space, and this sedan was already exceptionally roomy in the first place.

More refined power

As Car and Driver pointed out, the only real complaint on the 2020 G80 was that its base 311-horsepower V6 engine wasn’t peppy enough. For 2021, Genesis decided to shake up the available powertrain options on the G80. The standard  2021 G80 models will feature a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine with a 300-horsepower.

A twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that produces 375-hp will be available on the higher trim levels. The forceful V8 engine that was available on the 2020 Sport trim will not be available in the 2021 lineup. This takeaway might be a disappointment to some.

Grander tech features

In addition to its noble design, the G80 also became a star in its class because of its long list of standard tech features.  The 2020 G80 comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and HD Radio. In 2021, we can also look forward to a significantly larger 14.5-inch  infotainment screen plus a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument display. Furthermore, we are also expecting more available advanced safety features on the 2021 G80. And to top it all off, we are excited about the new ambient lighting component that will be offered too.

What else you can expect

There is much to look forward to on brand-new G80. However, the uptick in standard features will come at a higher cost. The 2021 G80 will cost $5,150 more, which means the entry-level models are just under $50,000. This is a considerably higher starting price, but it is still cheaper than some class rivals.

If you are really interested in obtaining the revamped 2021 G80, you won’t have to wait much longer. You can officially reserve a model of your own now. We can expect to see the new G80 in car dealerships by the end of the summer.
