Why Your Raptor Might Not Be the Best Ford Bronco
To many, the 2022 Ford Bronco might seem like the ultimate SUV. And in a way, that is true. The Raptor name is no longer just reserved for the F-150; Ford has brought serious performance to its off-road SUV. Although the Bronco Raptor may be the high-performance model, Ford has released another variant known as the Bronco Everglades, and it is solely focused on the road less traveled.
Can you order the Bronco Everglades?
The Ford Bronco Everglades has been released, but unfortunately, you can no longer order one from the Blue Oval. Because demand is so high, Ford has not been able to keep up with demand. Also, a factor are the supply chain constraints that automakers are currently facing. These issues make it hard to produce SUVs at full capacity.
Order banks initially opened up in March. And it became pretty clear that the 2022 Bronco Everglades would be a popular model. After all, it does bring quite a bit to the table, even at its more expensive price point.
The 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades is an impressive SUV
When Ford first announced the new Bronco Raptor, it was clear it was going to be an off-road SUV. But the Everglades model really does take things to the next level. It comes with a factory-installed winch kit as well as an air-intake snorkel. And that means there are not many places that this 4×4 SUV can’t go.
Another perk of this 2022 Ford Bronco is the fact that it comes with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine and the Sasquatch Package. Both of these features should provide ample capability. According to Driving, the Bronco Everglades is designed for hard-core off-roaders.
How expensive is the Bronco Everglades?
The 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades starts at $53,000. This places it squarely in between the Wildtrak trim and the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor. The Bronco Raptor has a starting cost of $68,500, which is certainly more expensive than the Everglades.
It is not clear if there will be a 2023 Bronco Everglades model. It is entirely possible that the Blue Oval only offers it for a single model year. If that does happen to be the case, you are probably out of luck if you were hoping to purchase one new. Orders for the 2022 Bronco have been closed for some time.
Ford finally made a Jeep Wrangler competitor
The Jeep Wrangler has long set the bar for what an off-road SUV should be. But with the introduction of the Ford Bronco, the Blue Oval is shaking things up. On paper, it does seem like Ford got most things right. You can even order this off-road SUV with a manual transmission if you prefer to row your own gears. And that is somewhat of a rarity in today’s automotive market.
Unfortunately, it does seem like the Bronco has been too popular for its own good, much like the Ford Maverick. Hopefully, in the future, Ford is able to figure out how to get more 4×4 SUVs like the Bronco Everglades into the hands of dealerships and customers.
