Will an SUV Finally Convince People to Buy an Aston Martin?
If you’ve ever looked at an Aston Martin and thought “I wish I could own one, but they just aren’t convenient”, then your dreams may have been answered. This year Aston Martin will join the ranks of Lamborghini and Bentley in offering a new exotic luxury SUV.
The new Aston Martin DBX, set to launch this year, will be Aston Martin’s very first SUV, opening the iconic brand up to one of the most popular consumer bases: families. As Aston Martin enters the SUV game, it is clear that the era of exotic SUVs is upon us.
Starting at a base price of $192,000, this Aston Martin might just offer enough luxury and sport to convince us to buy one.
Luxury and Power
From the front, there is no question that the DBX is a near relative of the company’s more popular sport coupes, with the front grille and styling so close to the DB11 you may almost forget you’re driving a four-door SUV. The days of slow, heavy SUVs are in the past and the DBX is no exception, as it promises 542hp powered by the Mercedes AMG 4.0L V8 and twin turbos. Aston Martin claims the DBX will have a top speed nearing 180mph.
Luxury is no question when reviewing the offered features of the DBX. Not only does the DBX offer front seat heated seats and dual climate control, but also a unique and significantly less common feature: the back seats are also heated, along with back dual seat climate control.
In addition to the base model, Aston Martin says they will also be producing a stunning variety of package options to add the customization you crave from your family-style SUV.
The Pet Pack
Do you often find yourself worried about how you will transport your furry friends in your brand new Aston Martin? The DBX will offer a Pet Pack to ensure your family dog never has to get left behind. The Pet Pack offers an Aston Martin brand lead, dog food carrier, and dog bag.
A rear bumper protector to allow comfortable access without the risk of clawing up the paint. A dog partition promotes the safety of every passenger and ensures Fido won’t be jumping onto the fine leather seats. Combining these with a built-in portable washer and you can be confident wherever your adventures may take you.
The Event Pack
If the base model DBX doesn’t offer enough convenience, the Event Pack will guarantee that your SUV will be the go-to spot at any tailgate or picnic. The event package highlights rear-facing seating for scenic stops, an official Aston Martin picnic blanket with its own hamper, and umbrella storage.
Aston Martin is hopeful for the future of the DBX and is planning for future hybrid options as well as an eventual all-electric model, however, they have yet to confirm any details or potential releases.
With the rise of the new luxury SUV market, it is clear that Aston Martin is taking the cue and stepping up to challenge. Is the convenience and luxury of the DBX enough to make you want to add an Aston Martin to your garage?
